Castor is one of the gladed runs in the Beavers.

DO NOT ATTEMPT if you are not an experienced tree skier. Castor has very tight trees on a steep pitch.

Castor is a gladed run at the far Northwest side of the Beavers expansion. To the right are the "Steep Gullies". To the left are other steep gladed runs. Castor is accessed by skiing down the Pali cornice then heading left before the Steep Gullies gate.

Geocaching Colorado

This run is rated black diamond by Arapahoe Basin. I think it should be double black diamond.

Once you are in the trees, there are no good ways out. Please know your limits. This is probably the toughest T5 on the mountain, due to the difficulty of getting out of the area.

*** Congratulations and a poke with a ski pole to cache$303 for being FTF! ***

Getting to the cache the snow was pretty good, but after signing the cache log and taking a pic, the section of trees below was sketchy. Lots of exposed rock, stumps, and downed trees. I tried to stay within about 50 feet of the rope closure on the right on the way down. That line seemed a bit more covered than stuff to the left. Would be much better skiing later in the season when the snow fills in more. Thanks for placing this cache here, an adventure for sure!
