This cache is a tribute to one of our favorite hiders out in AZ, cschooner. Some of the most creative and enjoyable caches we have found have been the work of this master, so I am sure Staking Our Claim will be just the first tip of the hat of many that we place here in CO.

This will be our second cache since becoming geocachers in 2011. Our first cache had bad luck, needing maintenance several times and then disappearing completely, which was especially disappointing since we placed it to commemorate where we got engaged. We've decided it's time to step back out into the world of hiders and stake our claim with the rest of you! Hope you enjoy our cache as much as we enjoyed its inspiration.

Came out to find this fun one and was disappointed to see that the container had actually been left outside of its original hiding spot. So it was a much easier find than anticipated. Still a cool hide, and we replaced it where it should be!

Needed to make some progress on the Hidden Creatures so I came here while mugg-L enjoyed the air conditioning at a nearby coffee shop on this triple digit day. This was the end of the trail and when my first search of GZ came up empty, I was beginning to wonder if it was a mistake to attempt this one when I still had a ways to walk back to the car. Sipped some warm water and went for one more try and so glad I did! Very creative hide and definitely the most memorable find for the day! tft , SL
