Valentine's Day is a celebration of love and lovers. The roots of Valentine's Day goes back to ancient times, when people paid honor to the Roman God of Fertility. This was known as the Feast of Lupercalia, and was celebrated even then on February 14th. .

Did you Know? February 14th was formerly thought to be the first day of bird's mating for the season.

It is a time to exchange cards or small gifts. Chocolates and jewelry are the big hits of this holiday as is romantic dinners. It is a romantic event for lovers and a fun event for kids and family.

Saint Valentine's Day Massacre During the "Roaring twenties(1920's)", mobs, crime and gangsters were at a height in many parts of the U.S. Alcohol was banned, spawning the rise of Bootlegging and mob activity. Chicago , Illinois experienced more than it's share of mobs and gangsters. On Valentine's Day, February 14, 1929, four gangsters dressed up as policemen, massacred seven members of a rival gang.

Colorado welcomes us last night we horrible thunderstorms. We managed to miss the big hail but it was questionable for a while. We are out caching in 50 degrees. Who would have thought it would be 50 degrees in late June. WOW!! Tftc

Its been a long hot summer in Texas, I've been trying to get out and do a caching trip a couple of times this summer, but it never worked out. Finally managed to get a week off, and am so happy to be out here in Colorado. The weather if perfect, and there is a load of caches that need my name on Smile Thanks so much for the hide imusttravel2000, I really enjoyed finiding this cache!

LIve Wire 77 and I caching the eastern plains to finish up the Hidden Creatures goal of 100. We found 35 of 35, only needed 31. My favorite place to cache; beautiful views, dirt roads, and wide open spaces. Thank you for placing this cache so we could enjoy the game. sl
