Spent about 20 minutes at Ground Zero and didn’t have any luck. It’s a really good place to hide a cache so many potential hiding spots. No luck today. I’ll be back.
Thanks fearthefish for giving me a reason to get outside.

That was a interesting but challenging puzzle to work through. I started on it just after it was published and had quite a few helpful exchanges with the owner. I was close but not close enough. After a long vacation, I teamed up with benj59. He solved it first then I using the same data solved it as well. Phew! Finding the actual cache was also a challenge. There are so many places a micro could be hidden at GZ and I think I checked all of them. So while contacting a friend I was just getting a reply when I spotted it myself out of the corner of my eye. Cheers.

Friends and words. Words and friends. Words WITH friends! I have had friendly words with fearthefish for a couple of years now. And fearthefish definitely has a way with words. In fact, observing fearthefish's way with words is one of the reasons this cache exists. I was fortunate enough to observe his words in action several months ago with a certain comedy troupe that delights audiences in Parker with their improv skills.
In exchange for laughing heartily in the audience, I was given an opportunity to request a cache placed in my...honor? I hesitate to use that word though as I would hate to be associated with the fiendishness (is that even a word??) of this puzzle. But as I am one of the principal players in this puzzle, I guess I am guilty by association.
I enjoy words. I use them all the time in my day job and if you've read any of my logs, you'll notice I have developed a penchant for writing long ones. And not just paragraphs of "filler" language I'm tacking on to every log to increase my average log length. Most of it is an attempt to have thoughtful content. Sure, I have my "extra" words at the bottom but I try to write logs that show appreciation to the CO (you) for the time they took to write their own words in creating the cache. And recently I hit an average log length of 100+ words so I guess that means something.
Back to the puzzle. Although I like words and I'm a decent speller, I don't like Scrabble or associated games like Words with Friends. (although for the record I do like Boggle) In playing word placement games, I struggle with having enough creativity and vision to place high scoring words. Occasionally I will have a good play but generally, I lose. I do understand how those games are played which was instrumental in solving this puzzle.
Even with my game knowledge, it was still quite difficult and painstaking to get a good checker. But I was determined to figure this one out. After the old-fashioned way of tracking score kept me from achieving success, I decided to employ an unusual tool of the trade that was probably never intended to be employed in solving this puzzle. Google Sheets (Google's answer to Excel). And wouldn't you know it - that worked! That was several months ago. And thankfully all without exchanging words with the CO to achieve a lifeline.
Yesterday (as I'm writing these words one day after the find), I took the day off of work to take my daughter on a caching field trip. As she is homeschooled such field trips are valid. Throw in some Jim Reeb virtuals (history), a tree climb (PE), and her own desire to journal about the experience (English) and you have a qualified day of school! This was one of the "I must find this!" caches for the day.
Once we made our way to GZ we quickly saw the endless possibilities of where the cache could be hiding. And in that picture, I am looking at one of the places it's not. I actually did think I spotted the cache once but I didn't trust my geosenses and at this point had to call up the CO for a hint. His words directed me right back to where I had searched earlier and then I had the cache in hand.
This gets a favorite for fearthefish not only being a good friend and good with words, but for the brilliance of the puzzle and hide. I'm still not even really sure how the CO (you) managed to coordinate all it to work out the way you did. But it certainly worked!
Okay, I think 677 words is enough for this puzzle.
Thanks for the hide fearthefish. I appreciate you keeping this cache active for everyone to enjoy.

Some may call me seriously mentally ill. Some may state that I am in a state of mind that prevents social interaction. Some may say I am in a state of mind that prevents normal perception and or behavior. I prefer to say that I tend to do the same thing over and over again, but I expect different results. That being said, I believe we only live one life and I am trying to make the best of it. I thank you, fearthefish for placing a fun geocache to fuel my "insanity" or addiction as I call it. I appreciate you bringing me here so that I can try and sign my alias on a piece of paper that you have hidden.
I look forward to finding more of your geocaches. I also look forward to potentially finding geocaches with you one day and sharing stories of our insanity... I mean hobby or addiction? Cheers!

Details.....this puzzle absolutely requires attention to detail! Sat down to crank this one out with PMC and way too many hours later he was still hitting up the CO for errors in our math. Once we were beyond sure our math was accurate, we found we had overlooked yet another detail which was preventing us from certitude success. I can't recommend enough that you read the cache description! Once we finally hit pay-dirt it was still an uphill battle to put our hands on the container. PMC had a little insight on how to achieve success and put his hands on the container. One tip: Make sure you "Drive Safe" to GZ as I know the CO would be sad to hear otherwise. TFTC
