Not where it should be, but in good shape. We secured the container so that it doesn't blow away in the next breeze, though we recommend the CO come to check placement since the container looked like it was just tossed out of a car window when we found it. SL. TFTC!

My2boysmama and I are headed from our campground near the Great Sand Dunes to Colorado Springs. The fire along 160 caused us to take this route, which is also causing us to pick up some new counties. The smoke is heavy this morning so views are obscured but still pretty.

Of all places, someone chose this spot to sleep in their car. He stirred a bit as we pulled up.

Matthew had sharp eyes and made the find here. It's a different container, but everyone should have a good shot at finding this.

Ghostly mountains

Great rural Colorado cache container. If you wonder how the San Luis Valley could be so flat when it's surrounded by mountains, the answer is that recently (geologically speaking, of course) the graben between the mountains was filled with a lake. Sediments are very deep, just not quite as deep as Death Valley. If you're from away, just call it the Valley to fit right in in Sagauche, Alamosa, or Antonito. TFTC
