Takes less than an hour  Scenic view  Available at all times

This cache is located just off County Road 215. No need to cross any right-of-way fences.
Don’t be fooled by the caches name, the cache is placed up on the mesa top next to County Road 215. It’s overlooking the Parachute Creek valley that Gene Bumgardner’s family first homesteaded years ago. Remnants of the original cabin can still be seen just down valley. Deer, elk, wild turkeys and grouse can be found in the meadows below, while black bear and mountain lions live high up in the timber and rocky outcroppings. For years, the Gene and his family raised hay and cattle. Gene was truly one of the last Great American Cowboy’s in the Parachute area.

The cache is a 30 mm Ammo can. It contains a log and lots of stuff.

Becareful of traffic on this road, can be very busy. Park along the east side of the road. Not recommended during wet weather or during snow & ice conditions.

Congratulations to DARR for the FTF :0)

Since I'm loggingd this I know I am still alive. About 2/3 of the way up the fence line I happeened to glance behind me and it nearly stopped my heart!! I figured there was no way I was going to make it back down that. The fence was my friend all right, about the only thing that kept me going up at times. Boy was I glad to make the top. Collasped for quite some time so my heart could get back to normal. Two surveyers found the cache and logged their finding it. They said that we (cachers) were either crazy or bored!!!!!! Came down the other side of the fence line and it seemed much easier but I sure was glad when my feet hit the pavement. Awesome cache hide! SL
