Came up to look at the Buttermilk Ridge Fire.
Been a while since I have been up here so I checked on cache and logged another visit.
Beautiful views from here.

Nice quick find, TFTC

Aahhh, this was a nice break from the road. Very rough, very slow, but a standard pickup can make the route just fine. The hike is a steady grade, but leads to an amazing overlook. Thanks for the cache and showing me this part of the country.

Have to give Mrs Allagash credit for this one. I was scrambling too low on the hill.

7-17-15 (not the same date as the log) We are some 27 caches behind in logging – have not been completely up to date since mid May at which time the Ms. took off for our “legal residence” in AZ, returned for 2 wks, and again in AZ for most of June. I did do some caching without her, mostly bushwhacking type stuff that she detests but am nearing completion of a 14 month project in Delta and putting in long hours. In addition to the Ms., made several other trips to GJT during that same time period picking up Architect, designer, etc. – usually picking up a cache or 2 on the way into town, but not logging it. Have only logged the few FTF and Event caches in the meantime – now catching up. Spent HOURS going back through GPS “Track logs” making sure we got all the caches and on the right dates. With these 27 logs we will have surpassed the 1000 mark by 3 caches.

One of the “unlogged” caches was GCRTA9 – Hidden in the Hunting Ground, a mapping puzzler multi by McMurdo1. We found the first three stages as a team but ran out of daylight, mapping resources, & smarts - and did not find the final stage that day. I literally woke up in the middle of the night with the solution and after taking the Ms. to GJT the following day went out and made the find on the way back home to Delta. I signed the log and logged a “Note” but decided to wait until the Ms. came back and could sign the log also before LOGGING it as our 1000th find. It is definitely in our top 5 list of favorite caches!

This is one of those other 27 unlogged caches. Sorry for the late log but want to thank each and everyone of you for having set the cache for our enjoyment. The Ms. and I have wanted to do some of the caches out in this area for a VERY long time. Just never seems to be the right moment, PLUS to make it worth your while, you have to figure out a bunch of jake92 puzzlers in the immediate area, and you have to figure out ALL of them, or you might run right by the actual GZ of one and have to come back later. We have spent MONTHS working on his puzzlers and after caching out all of Montrose are now working on those in this area. THIS LOCATION was well worth the trip all by itself. With the Ms. in AZ she did not get to see it. Planning to bring her back out to this location when we get the Peach Valley series just for the view! As always, even though the CO is long inactive, we have highly enjoyed all his caches, this is no exception. TFTC SL Visited bugs

TFTC, love these old ones are still out there, maintained by the caching community. We parked down by the restrooms and picnic tables and hiked the 3/4 mile up to it. I wasn't going to drive my Ford Sporttrac on a jeep trail and I almost went back to it, then saw one rock outcropping that I don't think I would have made it over without same undercarriage damage. The rocks were about .3 mile from cache. CB_Beauty made the grab while I kept the geo-dog away from the edge.

Finally get my smiley for this one! I attempted the find when I first began caching but was always on the wrong side of the canyon. Went on a poker run with a bunch of friends, saw the name at the trail head and knew it had to be here. Was able to borrow a GPS and found it! What a great area with beautiful views! TFTC!
