This cache is located just off County Road 215. No need to bring your own bath towel.
This cache is placed up above the ground, making it a year round site. Be careful during periods of snow, rain or high water. Cache should stay dry if replaced where first placed. Originally placed with my two grandsons while on papa duty. As we approached the site, we saw a Blue Heron fly off the ponds and head north. As we continued closer to the ponds edge, two mallards took to flight. The commotion started a small flock of turkeys goobling. They were across the ponds in the downed cottonwoods to the west, near the old UNOCAL pump houses. As we were leaving, three mule deer came down the scree slopes to the east and met up with their friends down at the stream, drinkink from the creek. The best times to come are early in the morning or late in the evening. Drive up to the guard shack and make a u-turn, which will let you park on the west side of the road. Watch out for traffic. Lot's of big and small trucks traveling on this road. Once your here it's a great location to bring small children to teach them about life in the ponds and creekside ecosystems. Oh yeah, if your lucky you may see the residents that built the dams.

The cache is a 30 mm Ammo can. It contains a log and lots of stuff.

Congratulations to go pokes for the FTF :0)

That was quite a hell-walk! First couple feet down the hill mom stepped on a nail and I had to run back to the car for her sneakers! Then it took a while to get through the thick of things and around all the fallen trees to get to gz. This cache is no longer winter-friendly. Perhaps the fallen tree at gz knocked it down? We found cc on the ground. We did not see any wildlife, unless you count a turkey feather and a log that looked like a swan! We did walk over to the water before we went back up the hill for a nice little view. TFTC!

Wow... felt neat being the first to find this in almost 2 years. It was tough to open since it's been untouched for so long. Had to use a big rock. Everything inside is nice and dry. TFTC!

Thank goodness this was an easy cache. My legs are still jello from the Bumgardner flats cache down the road. Sat for a long time to see if I could see any beavers but no luck. SL
