This is a series I thought of to share what I consider to be my caching essentials. You may not agree because some are not really essential to caching. If you try them they may make the experience more pleasant. I am hardly ever without these items. I’m the type who wants to be prepared for anything.
Paml Pilot: I was able to bring my old cheap palm pilot out of retirement and use it just for caching. I cache paperless and I love having all the cache information loaded and handy while I’m out of the car and searching.
I'm sure many cachers use something else just as effective but the point here is to go paperless! Some GPSrs can hold and display all the cache information too. It's like gold to have all that information at your fingertips.
Save the pine tree. Go paperless!
4-21-11 I've retired my Palm Pilot. Now I have a Garmin 62s GPS and it holds all the cache information. Now I have everything I need in one place as well as in my Nuvi 500 used in the car for the driving navigation. Go paperless. It's the best way to go.
5-26-12 Cache is now a film can. Changed the hint.
