Cache located in Homestead Ranch Regional Park. http://adm.elpasoco.com/NR/exeres/7AFA3846-C847-4AC2-9AAF-A6DB47D6D967
This cache is dedicated to my Geodoggie, Wiley. He comes with me nearly every time I go geocaching, and his favorite terrian is where I've hidden the cache.

There is a marked, dirt trail leading very near the cache. The last part is pretty steep, thus the 3 terrain rating.

The park has ample parking and restroom facilities at the trail head.

So, this was it! My last cache of the day!

I had messed up on the trail and headed down when I should have stayed on top. But, after checking in with the kids, I headed back up the actual trail this time to see if I could finish up the west loop.

Turns out...I couldn't! I had already been hiking for a couple of hours and the trail back up was proving a bit challenging for this gal from Minnesota.

Loved seeing the deer on my way back up the trail. Always nice to take a break from a hike uphill to enjoy the wildlife! And some of the views were pretty nice too! The hawks were circling above and I even managed to get a photo of them too.

Loved the big tree at the switchback too.

The playground proved to be my kind of playground! Loved the little cave, the rock formations, and the cool trees in the area.

The cache was out in the open. Looks like the lid has been chewed through. Everything was wet inside, so I left a new log with a new ziplock but I don't think that's going to last with the broken lid.

If there was a cache to highlight all the best this park has to offer...this one was it!

Thanks for the adventure!

After completing the nearby wherigo, I found everything on the west side of the park. Enjoyed the hike. I'll come back some day and get the other half!
I think I took the most difficult course possible. Straight up the steepest part which was covered with slick pine needles! Nice spot
