First in a series of caches commemorating Aspen/Snowmass Chairlifts.

 

The geocache is NOT at the posted coordinates.

Our family has been skiing and hiking at Snowmass for over 20 years.  

We love it here.  Come and visit!

To find this geocache you must first determine the number (XYZ) of the last chair on the Village Express Chairlift.  This is easiest to accomplish during the ski season (winter) when the chairlift is running.  It is much more difficult during the summer, when the chairlift may not be running.

The cache is located at   N 39° 12.abc W 106° 57.def

where abc =  234 + XYZ and def = 405 - XYZ

I'm avenging my DNF from exactly one year ago, when the cache container had gone missing! No trouble with muggles after 9 PM. Cute container, too. SL, and returned as found.

I've been in town a few times in the last year, but waited until today to make the find, as I'm trying to get a non-challenge puzzle cache on every calendar day. I think I have less than 50 dates remaining.

I've been skiing here at least one day a year since 1978. Lots of snow today, but way too warm; snow was tacky/grabby by 1:30 PM.

Found with LinseyG during our Snowmass ski trip. We watched the chairlift numbers carefully, did some maths at lunchtime, and popped by to collect the find on our way for dinner. Very cute container!

Been here a couple of days skiing and finally remembered there was a puzzle we could get.

Answer was easily found on our first lift of the day, with the coords calculated over lunch we were pretty sure we knew where the final was going to be and we were right

We spotted the container from a bit of a distance, but decided there were too many people right by it so came back 5 minutes later where it was an easy grab.
