This is one of a couple caches placed In recognition of the 2016 PI day event in La Porte.

Just down the road a piece from the bustling crossroads of LaPorte Colorado the Cache La Poudre River flows uninhibited through the fields of northern Colorado.  This cache is placed along a stretch of road that can be busy with traffic.  Watch for a good spot to pull over and please keep an eye on any children that might be present.

Dutch Apple Pie recipe courtesy of Betty Crocker Ingredients: Crust: 1 cup flour 1/2 teaspoon salt 1/3 cup plus 1 tablespoon shortening 2 to 3 tablespoons cold water Filling: 8 cups sliced cored peeled apples 1/2 cup granulated sugar 1/4 cup flour 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon 1 tablespoon lemon juice Topping: 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened 1 cup flour 2/3 cup packed brown sugar 1 tablespoon granulated sugar Directions: In medium bowl, mix 1 cup flour and the salt. Cut in shortening, using pastry blender, until particles are size of small peas. Sprinkle with cold water, 1 tablespoon at a time, tossing with fork until all flour is moistened and pastry almost leave side of bowl. Gather pastry into a ball. Shape into flattened round on lightly floured surface. Wrap flattened round of pastry in plastic wrap and refrigerate for about 45 minutes or until dough is firm and cold. Heat oven to 400 degrees. On surface sprinkled with flour, using floured rolling pin, roll pastry dough into circle 2 inches larger than 9 inch pie plate. Fold pastry into fourths. Place into pie plate. Unfold and ease onto plate, pressing firmly against bottom and side. In large bowl, toss filling ingredients. Pour into pie plate mounding apples toward center. In medium bowl, use pastry blender or fingers to mix butter, 1 cup flour and the brown sugar until a crumb forms. Sprinkle over top of pie. Bake 45 to 55 minutes or until pie crust and crumb topping are golden brown and filling begins to bubble. Cool and enjoy!

5 Logs: Found it 5

Found it 09/04/2018 By Casper&Aero

MPLC

Our English is not perfect, we use Google Translate to help us ...

Our journey began last August 22 and will take us to visit twelve US states and two Canadian provinces ... Our departure was from Baie-Comeau, a city on the North Shore of Quebec and then continue for a few days in Quebec City where we did some Geocaching .... Then we stopped at St-Eustache and Ville de Laval, still in Quebec, and then flew to Portland, Oregon... We made stop in Umatilla on August 28 still in Oregon, August 29 in Boise, Idaho, August 30 in Twin Falls and August 31st we are in Salt Lake City for two days... The 2nd of september we were in Rock Springs. Wyoming and yesterday the road brought us to Laramie, Wyoming... Today our trip will take us to Colorado Springs where we will stay for two days

Throughout the trip we have targeted some caches that will help us achieve our personal goals and we will certainly discover new places that Geocachers here will want us to discover ... We have been planning this trip for several months and know we will not be able to not all see for lack of time ... There are many caches but we must close our eyes can not find them all ... But it is with pleasure that we will put our signature on some of them ...

Thank you for creating these caches that add smiles to our profile and make us have a good time regardless of the mood of Mother Nature ... Our log will be the same for the whole day and if there is a particularity we will add it at the beginning of the text ... Favorites will be added here and there for all the work done ... TFTC

Quick find by Baby Monkey today while I sat in the car and watched a turkey and a chicken seem to chase each other around the yard. Really - I've never seen a turkey run, let alone play. It was fun to see.

#4 of 8 for the day caching up to Gateway Natural area in Poudre Canyon.

TNLN and SL - TFTC.
