The Flat Stanley Memoir geocache is to commemorate and honor the Flat Stanley school projects. A Flat Stanley original was a little man made out of paper by my son, Sam, for a 1st grade school project. It was shipped to relatives in Tucson who took pictures of Flat Stanley in different places around Tucson, then after a time, sent back home to Colorado where Sam made a poster board project with pictures of Flat Stanley's adventures to present to his class.

When my son told me about his school project, which seems to be common in schools around the country, it reminded me of a TB visiting different geocaches. I decided to set a cache part way up Ute Pass to introduce the Flat Stanley Memoir Travel Bug and his mission starting at this cache.

Do not stop on U.S. Hwy 24 to get this cache, it's not safe! Turn off a quarter of a mile north and drive down the Hwy. 24 Frontage Road. There's safe parking next to the cache on the gravel.

Original contents include the Flat Stanley Memoir TB, a log sheet & pencil.

GPS average of 121 observations got the coordinates to within 0.5' accuracy.

Congratulations to colorado gypsies for the FTF!

Hello from the west coast! Jimlips and I are visiting from northern California. Our goals are to get both Tarryall, and Mingo, among other fine caches. My muggle brother joined us today, and he made most of the finds...without a GPSr! This one was a QEF for us. TNLNSL ~ Thanks Approve
