Located on the Telegraph/Big Canyon trail system.
On the ridge just north of New Country Auto Center. You can park at the CDOT lot, between the Toyota building and the hyway, for a shorter, steeper hike or you can park at the Big Canyon trailhead where the Colorado State hyway 3 joins hyway 550 and take the southern path for a longer, but not as steep hike. In either case you will need to get to the top of the ridge, whether you find a path or just go cross country. Several ways up. Once on top, follow your GPS and find the correct trail. Take a camera, great views.

Steep hike. Went straight up ignoring the trail while carrying a 25 lb baby on my back! Got poked a few times by cacti but it was a fun adventure!

Yaaaayy... I've attempted to get to this cache a few times over the years but I've either accidentally gotten on the wrong trail or had a little kiddo who couldn't hike that far. But tonight was the night!!! Started just before 7 with a buddy who hadn't cached before, we made it up just as the sun was going down and found the cache, beautiful night and wonderful hike. Made it down with the help of a headlamp. TNLN, but SL!!! Great hike, great cache, can't ask for more!!!!

55Connie and I decided to drive from Pagosa Springs to Mesa Verde Nat'l Park today and bag a few caches along the way. This turned out to be our favorite adventure for the day. We approached the hard way (straight up). Returning we decided to hike the trail North for about one mile, then down the canyon on the return to the car. Great hide in a Great location. TFTC.

Great cache, everything is in good shape. Enjoyed the hike up, the view and finding an enjoyable cache. I grabbed the little bear with the Trektag and will drop him in a good cache on my way back home. Left a nice prize. TFTC.

While traveling through this beautiful area, I needed to have the oil changed in my truck. While waiting for the work to be done on my truck, I discovered this cache was only .16 miles away' From where I was standing it was a pretty steep slope to get to the cache. Albeit I was wearing the wrong shoes, I headed for the coveted smiley... A few strides straight up the hill I discovered a well traveled path. That path lead me away from the cache. Being unfamiliar with area I found a game path that lead me up the slope in the right direction. It took about 15 minutes to reach the summit and score the cache. TNLN/SL TFTF!
