FUTURE CACHERS -- PLEASE READ. We recently adopted this cache from doc4001, who passed away recently. I went to check on it (came in from Rainbow Falls, and was headed east) and with coordinates to all 3 stages in hand, I set out. Not to give much away, but if you are coming in from the west headed east, you will pass stage 2 on your way to stage 1; the final is then back past stage 1 and a bit farther east (all 3 stages are close together). I got the coords to stage 2 from the Waypoints part of the cache description, viewable only by the CO, which is now us. The coords that doc put in for stage 2 are for a great land feature, but are NOT where he put stage 2. Since I couldn't find stage 2 at the coords he put in (because that is not where he put it), I put a replacement black bison tube at those coords, that has the coords to the final in it. I then headed off to stage 1. Found it and in it are the coords to where doc placed stage 2, which was behind us. Not wanting to backtrack, I continued east to the final, and then farther east on down to the Scabbard cache (GCV51B). The final is AOK. After finding it and Scabbard, I was headed back west to where I parked (about 1.5 miles away) and with the coords to the doc stage 2 in hand, I checked on it and yep -- it is there, and is in great shape. SO -- when you find stage 1, you get your choice of which stage 2 to go to; they both have the correct coords to the final. Any questions or concerns, feel free to email us.
A well camo'd 3 leg multi with rewarding ammo box final. Good 2 hr hike, bike, 4WD or ATV outing. Best access is Teller Co FR347, but FR348 will do, off Hwy 67 N of Woodland Park. GPS signals will probably drive you nuts so stay with it!
Stage 1 -- 5 feet up. Stage 2 -- doc's is 4 feet up, the one we placed is 3 feet up in a small fir tree NOT NEXT TO THE EDGE. Final -- NOT ON THE TOP. Check the base, downhill side.

11/02/2017 By LLYN-lhvwn50 Last month, I hiked up here from Hwy 67, having missed the fine print that it would be at least three miles UPHILL. There were some gorgeous views, but I was so whipped arriving at WP1 that all I could think about was going back down. Today I came in from Rampart Range Road. One location on the way in looked so promising that I almost stopped there to hunt, but that didn't seem in the spirit of things so kept on to WP1 (it was indeed the final location!). Well, I looked for both WP2s but only found Doc's. The other one might be in place, and I just missed it being so focused on footing. The final is in good shape. Someone stumbled on it and signed the log earlier this year. Since I already had the TB from Scabbard, left this TB in place. Thanks for keeping this one going and for the double adventure.

10/10/2016 By 3 Williams Kidz After the very unfortunate passing of doc4001 earlier this season, we adopted all 17 of his caches. We have never found this one before so we are logging this as a Found It, as we have never been in this area before and have never worked on this cache. We will post a note and modify the initial part of the cache description, as there are now 2 different stage 2's for this cache, each with coordinates to the final. The original 3 stages are all in great shape. SL, dropped off a Copy tag trackable of ours, and were on our way (off to Scabbard, another cache that we adopted from doc, that is nearby).

07/04/2014 By SnailMan1 This cache was my primary goal for the day. I did not know what the roads are like in the area so I parked at the start of FR 348 which resulted in a 12 mile hike. I can say that I was thoroughly tired by time I got back to the car. I found the 1st stage fairly quickly, even with the numerous hiding places. I looked for a long time at stage two. I finally caught a glint of something out of the corner of my eye which turned out to be what I was looking for. I not sure I would have found this waypoint the afternoon. Once I arrived at the final I had trouble finding it too but I eventually hit pay dirt. Thanks for the multi and exercise.
10/12/2013 By co_gps_guy Enjoyed a fun day of ATVing at Rainbow Falls. Passed the final cache 3 times during the adventure. Caches are in great shape. TNSL. TFTC!!

08/10/2012 By -CacheHound This was our first cache of the day and what a treat! Out exploring the trails in the Jeep and grabbing a few caches as we go. I'm envious of all the great roads out here. The second stage really had me for a bit. Probably spent a good 20 minutes searching for it. The last 11 months without a find have given it some good camo. In fact, we actually gave up. I emailed the CO hoping for some good fortune. Then as we were heading back--there it is! The final went much better. Awesome location! We grabbed the bug and placed it in another nearby cache, and added some extra goodies. Love your backyard! Fav pt included.
09/14/2011 By jherber TFTC It has been a fun summer. I wanted to log this as my 500th find as a tribute to the CO for all his help in the geocaching world and his friendship. I started out this summer with 150 caches and managed to add a couple of states, British Columbia, a couple of FTFs and several more counties to my stats. This summer is drawing to a close and I will have to move on until next summer, but I am looking forward to the hunt in other states and returning next year to beautiful Woodland Park, CO, and its environs.
