The whispers reached Xena through the dusty taverns and sun-baked villages – rumors of strange ships and metal men with glowing eyes. Driven by curiosity and a warrior's spirit, Xena, with Gabrielle faithfully at her side, embarked on a quest to uncover the truth.

Their journey led them to a desolate plain, where a colossal metallic cube hummed ominously against the clear sky. Xena, ever cautious, gripped her chakram, while Gabrielle, sensing an unknown danger, tightened her grip on Xena's arm.

Suddenly, the cube whirred open, disgorging metallic figures, cold and emotionless, their red visors scanning the landscape. "We are the Borg," a synthesized voice echoed, devoid of warmth. "Your individuality will be added to our collective. Resistance is futile."

Xena, her warrior instincts taking over, let out a battle cry and hurled her chakram towards the nearest drone. The metal disk, usually a symbol of her prowess, bounced harmlessly off the drone's armor. Before she could react, a phaser blast hit her, sending her flying across the sandy ground.

Gabrielle rushed to her fallen friend, fear and defiance battling within her. However, before she could reach Xena, another blast separated them. With a swift movement, the Borg captured Gabrielle, her pleas falling on deaf ears.

Enraged and injured, Xena struggled to her feet. She knew she had to fight, for Gabrielle, for herself, and for the freedom of those who couldn't fight for themselves.

But the Borg were relentless. Xena's martial skills, honed through years of battle, proved ineffective against their advanced technology and collective tactics. One by one, her weapons were rendered useless, each blow met with unwavering resolve from the drones.

Finally, cornered and exhausted, Xena was subdued. The cold nanoprobes invaded her body, systematically rewriting her biology, erasing her memories, her emotions, and ultimately, her very identity. Xena, the warrior princess, the champion of the oppressed, became Borg Seven of Twenty-Three.

Gabrielle's fate was no different. The Borg, devoid of empathy, assimilated her as well, her bardic skills and unwavering loyalty turned into instruments of the collective.

News of Xena and Gabrielle's disappearance spread like wildfire across the land. But the truth remained hidden, a chilling reminder of the unwavering threat the Borg posed. Somewhere within the vast collective consciousness, faint echoes of Xena and Gabrielle lingered – a whisper of rebellion, a flicker of empathy, a silent testament to the warrior princess and the bard they once were

After all of last week's nasty snowy weather, when it neared 60 degrees today I started itching to get out and about. So I decided to go for a run and cache along the way. A slightly different way to cache and dash, perhaps? I chose some of the borg invasion caches as my target because they were close enough for it. I enjoyed watching Star Trek growing up, and remember the borg from watching the Next Generation episodes and movie. Thank you for the smiley and the memories!
