Congrats to salugie and Fork L Man *FTF*!!!

About five years ago I was in my back yard and I heard a "peep" coming from the bushes in the back. I went to investigate and saw a small fuzzy creature. It was in a thick over growth and I could not reach it. So I lured it out with small pieces of cat food. It turned out to be a tiny Siamese Cat. I immediately brought it in to show my wife. She thought it was cute and named it Smokey, but said, "It is not going to live in the house." So I made it a comfortable bed in the garage.

A month later my wife went on a business trip. So I brought Smokey inside. She looked around and then made herself comfortable on the bed. When my wife came home she didn't have the heart to make Smokey go back outside to sleep.

One day when I got home after work my wife met me out in the driveway laughing. She said, "You've got to see this." She took me to where Smokey was playing. It was then I noticed that Smokey didn't move like most cats. She hopped around on all fours when playing.

So, on this day I decided to place a cache dedicated to my Little Leaping Princess Smokey.

The route to this cache is fairly obvious. You don't need to park in the road and climb the embankment or traverse the creek.

Wow is that a tough place to search around without tearing your clothes or poking an eye out. Lots of leaves at the two hiding areas closest to GZ and a lot of digging & poking revealed nothing. Bummed.

I brought my bike up to this area for a geocaching bike ride and managed to find 19 caches on my 25 mile ride. I found this one at 11:55 am. Thanks for the cache and for making my route more fun!

It was sitting out in the open so I put it back a bit more hidden.

0 for 3 for today's cache outing, including this one. I tried both sides of canal with no luck and thought at the time that the coordinates and the hint/description were probably both off. Saw a helpful photo in old logs now, so if I get back to area that may help. Sticking to my guns on coords/descrip, even though an established cache.

Found it! Out caching today while the cache-boys are at summer basketball camp in the area this beautiful morning. Took out the bubblegums because, gross. and didn't want critters to be attracted to it. Great cash in a slightly challenging area today due to all the tall grasses.
