global thermonuclear war

CIRCA 1983 War Games

For my 50th hide, I decided to try something completely uncharacteristic: a conventional Multi-Cache within city limits. --and the plot continues-- WOPR was discovered by a meddling young lieutenant buried in a storage facility deep within the mountain. Unknown to him, WOPR’s infinite string of tic-tac-toe was halted and the prepare to launch sequence initiated. You are the only person able to save the world from nuclear holocaust...

Back to give this one another go after almost 3 years since our first DNF! Brought more reinforcements but still stymied at stage 1. Four us us spent quite awhile but came up empty.

While attending a CITO in the area today I had noticed this cache. A new friend said he had previously found this and said it was a fun cache. I painfully worked through the second waypoint with some help solving the puzzle for the final location. Unfortunately it appeared to have been missing so I was given a new container to replace it with. I hid the cache a little higher up to prevent it from being detected. Thankfully this was not a homeless hangout like previously seen when the cache was last replaced. Cache is in great shape now and ready to be found.

Found Falken's Maze on April 29, 2017 using Cachly for iOS.

Thank you, climbstuff for placing a fun cache for all of us to enjoy. I look forward to finding more of your caches.

Searched for the first waypoint for some time today, no joy. After reading some past logs I have a better idea of both the size and probable location. I'll try again tomorrow.

Ran out for a daily and met up with RPieperCO and CrumbCrunchers at stage 1. Nice spot to reflect on the cache under the tree protected from the rain/snow. When we finally got to the final and searching around it, we saw lots of big trucks coming down the dirt road. Must be a big day for 4x4 trucks in the area. We searched for about 15 minutes and found nothing. We got confirmation we where at the correct location and then saw the previous logs. Sad! I love the ammo box caches! Thanks for the fun hunt.

TFTMC!! Qaz and I worked our way through this one after some help from CrumbCrunchers at stage 1. I swear I looked in every nook and cranny there was,and there are lots! CrumbCrunchers made the stage 1 find and we made quick work of plotting our next stop. Qaz and I headed off to stage 2 and found it quickly. After an unfortunate miscalculation in the final we were back on course. Lots of serious bush waking through very wet willow in the snow. Made it to the final and searched all over for an ammo can but couldn't find anything. Reading the last few posts it is likely gone. Dropped a silver bison in the tree for the time being. If the CO would like to replace the ammo can I will happily pick up the cache any time. Fun Multi!

Took my nephew out for an afternoon of caching. fortunately the weather held off. We searched for quite a while but couldn't come up with stage 1.

I cannot even begin to describe the horrors viewed at these coordinates. Truly some things should not be used for rectal cleansing. I suspect the container will be removed by the "resident" when they depart.

Thank you for placing this device!

Looks like a homeless person has moved in. It's always nice to find an ammo can.
