All containers inside eachother
06/10/2019 By HTBob
We are out caching today while staying at Wyndham Pagosa Springs for a few days. Thank you 4 Ward Hunters for hiding so many caches in the Pagosa Springs area. For several years, when I came here to vacation, it was actually hard to keep up my daily find streak because there were so few caches to find in the nearby area, often necessitating a trip to Durango or Silverton to cache and just be touristy. Thank you for injecting a little caching life into the local Pagosa Springs area by hiding so many caches. This particular cache was on my short list of ones to find while we were here. So, today we went out for a few finds and found the first stage in great shape, but stage 2 lid would not stay on the bottom part of the container. Fortunately all the contents were dry and when we got to the final stage log was in great condition. I am glad I brought the correct TOTT (Tool Of The Trade) to make signing the log possible. I put each stage back where I found them the best that I could.
So, I will apologize right now, because everything from here on is here solely for the purpose of increasing my word count average. It seems that there are caching statistical challenges that look at the word count averages in our “Found It” logs.
And now for today's trivia ...
NATIONAL ICED TEA DAY
National Iced Tea Day is observed annually on June 10th. This day is set aside to celebrate one of summer’s favorite drinks. Whether it is sweetened or unsweetened, with or without lemon, it is loved by many and enjoyed by the glass full all summer long.
Iced tea can be found in many flavors including lemon, peach, raspberry, lime, passions fruit, strawberry and cherry.
An alternative to carbonated soft drinks and quite popular in the United States, iced tea makes up about 85% of all tea consumed. It can be readily found in restaurants, convenience stores, vending machines, grocery stores and self-serve soda fountains.
Recipes for iced tea have been found dating back to the 1870s. The Buckeye Cookbook, published in 1876 and Housekeeping in Old Virginia, published in 1877 both contain iced tea recipes. It is believed, however, that iced tea started to appear in the United States in the 1860's and became widespread in the 1870s where it was found offered on hotel menus and was on sale at railroad stations. The popularity of refreshing iced tea drink grew rapidly after it was introduced at the 1904 World’s Fair in St. Louis.
Green tea has been suggested to be used for a variety of positive health benefits.
- Reducing the risk of cardiovascular disease
- Some forms of cancer
- Oral health
- Reduce blood pressure
- Weight control
- Antibacterial and antiviral activity
- Protection from solar ultraviolet light
- Anti-fibrotic properties
- Neuroprotective power
HOW TO OBSERVE NATIONAL ICED TEA DAY
Brew and enjoy a glass of iced tea with friends. Enjoy a drink during lunch or dinner at your favorite restaurant.

I had a long drive today up from Phoenix, so I wasn’t sure if I’d have the energy to go after this one. Buuut...stage 1 was just steps from my hotel room. So after a short rest, I filled my pockets with my geo-essentials and decided to go take a look. Luckily, the sun shone bright late into the evening and with my vast geo-knowledge, geo-experience, and sharp geo-senses, I was able to walk away successful in my adventure!
Thank you for the smiley today! Stage 1 had a bit of water inside, but I dumped it out and was relieved to see that the water did not obscure the information I needed to proceed to the next stage. All’s well here!
