I've been close to this one before. Maybe last year or year before. Today was the day. Skied right up to it. Nobody paid attention.

Decided to check this out before the lift got busy. Talked to the lifties and got the ok to look for this lonely cache. Very quick find. Nice new log. TFTC.

Thank you egroeg38 for another awesome Boat series geocache.

Last ski season I popped over from Australia to plough these great slopes and was delighted to find a bunch of amazing caches here, accessible in winter.

Back home people kayak or swim or dive to GZ... My street cred went through the ceiling when I boasted I had skiocached!!!!

I've been here three days already this time...but in company, and never managed to get away - so every time I passed the Elkhead lift, Boat3 beckoned and mocked me.

But today was snowy. Too snowy apparently for my club to emerge from the lodge - so off I went to frolic in perfect powder, and then of course to take care of business...

I decided the most brazen up front approach was best, so strode past the otherwise engaged lifties, like I had an absolute right to be the wrong side of the fence, found the cache and signed the log.... and I don't think anyone noticed at all.

YAY!!! Favourite point!!!

Too many lifties watching that big wide expanse between me and the cache.

Walked over through the gate - skied over and signed the log. Skied back to get out the gate and my son said you trying to get thrown off the mountain? The operator walked out right behind me and never said a work - so, I guess it is ok to be in there.

My son and I were driving to Steamboat for a little Spring skiing. Now that he lives in Denver and has a little more time to ski he has finally surpassed the old man and turned into quite the boarder. So happy and proud to see how much he has progressed over the last 2 years sine we last got to go out and a little frustrated at how father time is catching up with me.

I set a personal challenge for myself to get to 20 caches found on every day of my calendar in 2017. About 3 years ago - I completed a challenge that required 10 caches on every day of the calendar and remember thinking what an accomplishment that was. Since then I have continued caching and figured I must be pretty close to 20 per day. I looked at the calendar and realized I had about half of the days covered.

It is now 23rd day of March and I have missed 6 days in January, 1 in February and at least 1 in March (damn work keeps getting in the way of my caching goals) - but, I am going to keep at it so that I can close this one out on 2018! For March I have 15 open days to get to 20 with a range of 1 to 9 caches needed - so, it will be a busy month. I didn't need any caches for the day - but, I figured I could grab a few new counties and grab some at altitude for some challenges that I want to fill or have already signed.

TFTC and Thanks to the COS who put out and maintain these caches
