This cache is located in some nice mountain country in the NW end of town. For those really adventurous souls, Blodgett peak is there for the climbing! There is a parking lot and trailhead at N 38'56.938 W 104'53.178. The cache is about 3/4 of a mile from there; a 1.5 mile hike(each way). Happy hunting!

What a wonderful afternoon to get out of work a bit early and hit the trails. I met up with CVA64 at the main parking lot for Blodgett, gathered up some water and snacks and with that we set out on the trail with only 4 caches in sight. We made the short quick hike to this one and after poking around for a few made the find. I have seen several of these caches now that have survived the fire with burnt remains and the reminder of the terrible events that unfolded. I'm glad these are still available and are being taken care of. Stamped and signed the log and replaced as found. Onto some bigger badder caches and terrain!! Thanks again for placing this one and keeping it alive!

I was going to log it as "needs maintenance" as well but then I read other logs. This cache survived a fire. Wow. It's quite amazing how much the area has rebounded. But the cache is a dark reminder of the wrath of mother nature. This one is in fine shape. Thanks for keeping it as is.

Found this one together with my horse Tally! I looked for it while she grazed !! The container must have survived a fire, pretty cool. TFTC!!!

Was feeling lazy today and didn't really want to get out, but the snow had melted by noonish and I had run out of excuses, so I headed west to the Blodgett area. I had originally planned to do a different trail to get an oldie I needed for my Jasmer and pick up a bunch of medium/regular sized containers, but logs for the oldie indicated that it was missing, so I decided to make a "quick" run up to this one and grab a few puzzles along the way before heading back and jumping on the other trail. HAHAHAHA! See my log for Cliff Hanger!

This cache was indeed a nice quick find. Everything but the replacement log book is charred to bits, which was a powerful reminder of what this area has rebounded back from. Thanks for placing this one!

On the trail early this morning to enjoy a fun hike and grab a quick cache. As other finders have mentioned, this container blends in well with its surroundings without any additional camouflage. It was sad to see the burnt contents in the container from the Waldo Canyon Fire. :o( We found stage 1 of Cliff Hanger while we were in the area and will go after stage 2 soon, but we're not sure we'll ever make it to the final. Thanks for keeping this older cache going!

I managed to pick this one up today while doing yet another run around MT Blodgett. I almost have the entire area cleared. I was happy to make the find on this one today, it was a extra bonus that it is a old one...over 15 years old. Unfortunately, I soon discovered that my pen was missing. During one of the various times I pulled my camera out of my pocket, it must have fallen out. I've included a pic of the container and log instead. TBlazer13 hasn't logged in for almost six years now, so I doubt it will ever get cleaned out. Like GoMRT said, it is kind of cool to have that reminder. Thanks to the CO for making this placement and leaving this old one active, TFTC.

Came up here in an attempt to make it to the WW2 crash, but we ended up not having the time we needed to get it done :( We did find this cache along the way! Its taken a real hit from the fire and there isnt much left of whats inside except for the replacement log. Thanks for the fun one!

It is cool to see an artifact commemorating the existence of caching before and after a forest fire! I've come across about six in all, including two today. TFTC hikeSmile

Tftc!
Great sunny day for hiking up Blodgett
Hoping to find the wreckage, because what better way to spend Memorial Day than by honoring those who fought for America?

Enjoying my first hike up here. I came at this from the wrong direction and was investigating all over the boulders before getting just the right angle...and there it was. Amazing the canister survived as well as it did. TFTC.

Wow! I have never been up here before & just figuring out the trails. Still not sure what the official way was to get up here. Burn camouflages this better. I actually tapped it with my hiking pole & heard the metal sound.
