CONGRATULATIONS TO Prescottazbob FOR FIRST TO FIND!

My attempt at a not so ordinary Multi cache. I tried to make the contents of final stage especially worth it. As best I could that is.
My thoughts on this multi were to make it a challenge for most of us. In thinking of a name I had several in mind, one was the Grand Poobah Cache but I did not want to confuse that with a local cacher Grandhighpohbah. :) These coordinates are stage one of five. There are miles between caches not feet. To get this done in one day I believe would be a challenge for most of us. I placed them all in about 6.5 hours and it was very challenging. I enjoy the more challenging terrain sometimes and the reward of finding the cache at the end. The progression will go from smaller to larger and easier to harder terrain. (Micro to Large containers) The final stage is a "large" so don't break my heart with "TNLN". :) The containers along the way will each have a logue and other than the first one (its a micro) will have room for coins, travel bugs and goodies etc. Of course the caches will have the coordinates for the next stage as well as information you might want to know about it. Please understand the terrain involved in this multi will be challenging. It involves a climb up very steep terrain and should not be taken lightly. When you get the final stage coordinates you will be able to see what I am referring to. I did not rate it a 5 simply because you do not have to have ropes or other equipment to do this. In this area there are snakes and other wild life and should be approached with that in mind. Take ample water and enjoy the hike. Of course the honor system as always will be expected. Take things from the cahes and put other things in them. Notes of which stage you have done are welcome I suppose , however please do not logue as found until the final stage is found. The first two stages you might have heavy muggle activity... after that most of the time you are by yourself. Each area the stages are in has ample opportunities for other caches so if you just did one stage at each outing you could still get a good days cacheing in. Also please hide as well or better as found. Each stage of this multi cache is in an area that is enjoyable or special to me. I grew up here in the local Denver Metro Area. I hope you all enjoy my multi cache.
Happy Cacheing

 Hints

Stage One: Easy.
Stage Two: Scratchy tree.
Stage Three: Hanging in a tree.
Stage Four: Ammo Box Under some rocks.
Stage Five: Large Ammo Box well hidden under fallen tree and large bush .
Bonus... You can also climb up to "Upper Landing" (GC1DFF2) to the north... This is very challenging so use good judgement before attempting. You can see what I am talking about looking from Final stage to the higher peak to the north.

Nicely done. Signed log on stage 1. Log is wet. Heading to stage 2.

Thanks cpine for giving me a reason to get outside. It’s always worth it when you are enjoying nature. There is nothing better than acting like a kid again, digging through weeds and climbing trees, all to sign my name on a piece of paper.

Yay!! I did it!!

Thank you so much for the adventure. This was my end-of-summer adventure and boy oh boy, it was a good one. I dinked around at the first stages, but the final stage was the real adventure.

I had to go up the normal way because I could not even find the trailhead. The hike was really steep and really hot, and when Alltrails says "no shade," they mean it. Eventually, I got to the final stage (where I wrote a rambling note that I'm not proud of and forgot to write the date), when I saw the storm clouds coming in. Then the thunder sounded. For those of yall who have attempted this (I'm not sure why you would be reading this but still), you know that it is not the trail to run down. So I basically destroyed my toes and ankles trying to get to the bottom quickly, while still wasting time looking for caches.

Even so, this multi-cache was so worth it. I'm giving it a favorite, not only for the fun I had and how well it was set up, but also I can afford to with all the caches I found along the way.

icezebra11's found it log gives a good synopsis of our working through this wonderful multi sequence. I won't repeat it here, other than to indicate I don't recall another cache that's taken so many trips to work my way through. That's because on each trip from northern Colorado we had other targets, and never seemed to have the time needed to finish this "Grand Multi", given its grand scale. It is indeed grand, and it's indeed a special one--one I will never forget in very positive ways. So it was a real pleasure today to take the hike that allowed us to complete the sequence. Thanks so much for this experience of multiple adventures, cpine. This is a memorable one that I will cherish.

Oh, yes. We did the bonus, but ascending to the top of the mountain for the two caches there.

Denali41, his puppy Orizaba, and I traveled from Wellington and Loveland to the Morrison area today to hike and cache on Mount Morrison. And what a beautiful day it was! We were bound and determined to finally finish the last stage of this awesome multi. We had started this cache back in May when we located Stage 1. With the information from that stage we headed to Stage 2 and that's where our progress stopped. We couldn't find Stage 2 and it turned out to be missing. I emailed cpine while at the site hoping to get the Stage 3 coordinates before we had to leave to meet some others to do the Catacombs caches but that didn't happen. cpine did email me back later that day but we were already back at our Northern Colorado homes.

The attempt at this cache was when we drove down for GW14er in July. With the coordinates for Stage 3 in hand we stopped and made the find before the event. Then after the event we drove up to the parking area and made the hike to Stage 4. We were successful in finding the ammo can and recorded the information for Stage 5, the final. But it was too late in the day to go for the final so one more trip would be necessary. Or so we thought.

Last month, we drove south again to attend the International Earthcache Event and after the event we drove to Morrison to go for the final. We parked at the spot recommended in the information contained in Stage 4 but it turned out the area has been placed off limits to hiking now. So I looked on SummitPost and found where the trailhead was. We drove there but realized it was going to be too much for such a late start so we bagged it once again.

Today we finally succeeded in finding the LARGE container at the final. Wow, that must have be one heck of a slog up the mountain to place this one! The blue item in the cache was really surprising. BigSmile Thanks cpine for this truly grand multi, it is very well done!!!

1st and 2nd waypoints got at the end of a caching day with GHP and Team Teman. 3rd waypoint I rode my bicycle inside the park, then walked the path to the outside of the park - found out I was on the wrong side of a feature, so then walked back around. Got close to the waypoint, and then slipped in the mud! I was one muddy mess. That was a pretty cool waypoint. Then I rode my bike back home. 4th waypoint I rode my bicycle to. Then locked my bike up at the trailhead. 5th waypoint I got this morning. So, only took me 4 trips! Very steep climb - I fell once on the way back down, got a little road rash on my hand - but don't think it will interfere with playing my violin. Lots of nice stuff in the final, and I can't believe that you carried that huge ammo can up there! For future cachers, don't follow the parking instructions in waypoint 4 - that is now out of bounds. I'm giving this a favorite points. Lots of people on the trail this morning.
