A quick park and grab in Dakota Ridge. Park on one of the neighborhood streets, not Lee Hill. If you haven't found the others in the neighborhood, you can park and walk to all of them. Bring your own pen.

This cache may be slightly challenging. You may or may not be able to find it when there's snow on the ground. Please let me know if this cache needs any maintaining, such as the log needing replacing, if the cache container is in bad condition, or if you can't find this cache. I’m up here in Boulder playing taxi driver for my dad and a friend of his who are running the Bolder Boulder. He’s almost 70 and still going strong! I am NOT a runner so I took the opportunity to get some targeted geocaches.

I ended up with a total of 10 finds on the day. One Virtual. Four EarthCaches and five Traditionals.

I came up this way in Boulder to get the EarthCache just up the road. But, before I did that I wanted to grab a couple Traditionals that were close by. This was the first of two I grabbed around Dakota Ridge. Very pretty neighborhood! And thankfully it was mostly quiet for being a Holiday morning.

After I parked, I made my way to GZ, reading some of the previous logs and hoping to not struggle too much. I saw some say it was easy but also saw some DNFs. And as I've been in a bit of a slump - needing to phone a friend or DNFing all too often recently.

I looked in the obvious spot, nothing. I looked in the next obvious spot. Still nothing. There was some muggle traffic but it wasn't too bad. I tried to be nonchalant as the cars were coming by. I KNEW it had to be there and kept thinking about one log in particular that got me to focus on the right area. I kept looking there, wanting to (proverbially) dig myself out of the Traditional slump. And with enough persistence, there it was! I was very relieved to make the grab and continue my way out of the slump.

Thanks for the hide jacobboulder. I appreciate you keeping this cache active for everyone to enjoy.
