It's almost been 5 years since this one has been found! Not sure how or why we ended up out here, but we were surprised by the excellent views from the top of the hill. I'm also not sure we didn't cross into private property. So Booger Red was a "gifted horseman and cowboy who got his nickname for his thatch of red hair and the verb 'to booger' which was a cowboy term describing a horse shying or running wild." He died of "Spanish influenza" at 22 in the Cripple Creek hospital. Anyway, the peak is named after him. Thanks for the cache!

Booger Red Hill. Really? I noticed this cache several years ago, saw the marker on the map, and wondered about the hike. Today was the chance to try it. Turns out winter may not be the best time since the side road is closed at the highway, which adds some distance to the hike. Still, overall, it was a great hike - trail, grass, snow, hills, and valleys. The cache is in great shape, as if it was hidden yesterday. TFTC!

I drove in to the parking spot and it was 1.1 miles away as a crow flies.
I will give it a try someday and if I do there will another Booger of a hide up there.
Some of the Prairie Dogs are not happy that I was back in here either.

TFTC! we worked hard for this one. Did not take a very direct route but it was an early spring beautiful day. Saw pasqueflower flowers, barrel cactus in bloon and little daisies. thank you for the hike.

Yeah, FTF. #20 for the team. I think we earned it as it took quite some time to get to it. There is really better ways to get to it than the way we chose. The cliffs certainly make you walk a long way around. After much griping about the long walk and all the hills, we reached the cache and made the grab. We then had a nice picnic at the top and took in the scenery. SL TFTC.
