A fairly simple problem but you still might have to blow out some cobwebs.

There has been a lot of news recently about climate change and how the rising ocean will wipe out Florida. Surprisingly, the rising oceans is not caused so much by the melting ice sheets as it is the thermal expansion of the water and this leads into the puzzle.
The current ocean rise is about one foot per century and until recently is has been well over three feet per century. The cape won't have to move for awhile.

Because it is a little difficult to make a band of water, let's use a copper band encircling the earth and heat it a little bit to see what happens. Let the Earth's circumference be 24,900 miles.
The equation to use is: dl = a * Lo * dt
where
dl = expansion (inch)
Lo = length of band (inch)
dt = temperature increase ( Degrees F)
a = linear expansion coefficient (inch/inch degrees F) Copper = 9.3 * 10E-6

If the copper band is heated just one degree it would be almost 200 feet above the earth.
If I gave the exact amount, Ernie66 would whip out his slide rule and solve it in one step.

Heat the band 0.53824200557674 degrees and the distance above the earth in feet is the longitude.
Heat the band 0.20328761978782 degrees and the distance above the earth in feet is the latitude.

Because not all calculators will agree, the following is given -
Longitude: xxx.xxxx3, Latitude: yy.yyyy8.
This also gives the format of the answer.

Found it 10/16/2018 By fearthefish
As much as it pains me to admit, I needed help from the always friendly herndonrd in order to solve this one. Of course, he was kind enough to join me today to find it as well. Fortunately the container was rather cooperative and showed itself right away. Thanks for the fun puzzle, hide, and for getting me one day closer to finding a puzzle on every calendar day of the year.

P. S. No animals (including humans, aliens, or PayMeCache) were harmed in the writing of this log.

Replaced container. Moved location about 30 feet because of area changes. Changed puzzle to match. Tell me if you have problems.

Enjoyed the puzzle. Found the cache on the ground. Replaced at the base of the tree under some pine cones. Thanks for the cache! SL.
