Needs maintenance

There are several approaches to this cache some may be easier than others. Expect hill climbing. Don't go out if the ground is wet.
Refurbished and restocked the cache on 8/13/06. It is now in an ammo box and stocked with a few items that would make visiting it worthwhile (though I feel this is not what geocaching should be all about).

The view of the surrounding mountain ranges and nearby terrain makes the hike worthwhile.

Nice hike, came in from the north with the new pup, although she is 7 months old now. Very big mesa and deceptive. Cache is in good shape, kinda nice to see an original logbook that old with lots of stories. Thanks for placing.

Wow...what we won't do to find a hidden box BigSmile I am sure we did not take the easiest route, but it is the end result that matters. TFTC and the amazing view! SL

Initially had planned to make the attack from the East but appeared that would be lots of up/down & around from that side making it much more than the .93 that gps was showing to cache. Had looked at it from north side week before when getting "Shepard Watch" so decided to look at that side more closely. Found a spot almost due north that put us .98 from cache with a step but even slope up and felt could make an almost bee line to cache up and over. It worked! but WOW the first 400yds was quite the workout with all most a 500' elevation gain in that distance but easy walk from there on in. 45 minutes in, 35 minutes back out. Great view of the valley, dobies and Thumb from above! Cache in good shape, easy find, spotted the hide from 45' away. TFTC SL visited TB

p.s. This is what caching is all about and love it when you are on a select list of those who will make the effort to go after a cache like this, especially when it has not been found in over a year! Gets a FAV!

We found the cache easily after hiking in on the old trail. A very nice four mile hike and a great view of the Mesa, Devil's Thumb and the adobe hills! The cache is in good condition and well hidden. We saw two pronghorn and a couple of chukars. T: $1 bill. L; trinkets and decals. SL. T4TC!

This is a well placed cach. What I think Geocaching is about. It takes effort to get here. It is an unusual spectacular view. Not likly to have come up here other wise. The prespective was worth the effort. Rode Mooner up the back side of the mesa in the evening after having a delisious hamburger at the golf course. Watched the sun set and the lights come on in town and up the valley. Forgot to bring any thing to leave there for took noting.
