Not at the above coordinates!! Congrats to Cheyenna for the FTF!!!! Yes, the flag was lowered at 5pm and everyone had to stop in their tracks to pay respect. With Pride, we did. Good luck. This was my first cache placed.
photo FitzsimonsHospital-1.jpg The cache coordinates can be found by solving this puzzle. Driveable to all building numbers. The past and present, weaving itself together. N 39 45.AMC W 104 5A.LA4 A = 2nd number of Main Hospital (old hospital) M = 3rd number of University Police C = 1st number of the old Chapel L = 3rd number of the old Gym. The past: My favorite memory of Fitzsimons is when they made me feel very important when I was 13 years old. At 1700, what happened everyday? Tell us your favorite Fitz memory ;o) The Fitzsimons Army Hospital was a medical facility that was located on 577-acres in Aurora. The facility closed in 1999 and the grounds are currently being redeveloped for civilian use as the Anschutz Medical Campus and the Fitzsimons Life Science District. The facility was founded by the United States Army during World War I arising from the need to treat the large number of casualties from chemical weapons in Europe. Denver's reputation as a prime location for the treatment of tuberculosis led local citizens to lobby the Army on behalf of Denver as the site for the new hospital. Army Hospital 21, as it was first called, was formally dedicated in the autumn of 1918 in Aurora, which at the time had a population of less than 1,000. In July 1920, the facility was formally renamed the Fitzsimons Army Hospital after Lt. William T. Fitzsimons, the first American medical officer killed in World War I.

I had an enjoyable afternoon driving around with the always cheerful herndonrd as we picked up some caches in the area. Neither one of us had attempted this puzzle before, so it seemed like an obvious target for the day.

This was my first time exploring this part of town and it was cool to see all of the military history interwoven into the hospital buildings. Like others before us, finding the elusive gym was the biggest hurdle, but we persevered. Unfortunately the final location has been bulldozed to make room for new construction. Thanks for the fun puzzle, hide, and for giving us permission to log this.

P. S. No animals (including humans, aliens, or PayMeCache) were harmed in the writing of this log.

Out caching with FeartheFish in the Fitz and Stapleton areas. Took a bit of driving around but finally found all the needed information. Calculated the final and drove over only to find major construction. Contacted the CO who confirmed that we had the correct solution. Nostalgic driving around the "back" of the area where some of the old buildings still remain. I have been here long enough to remember when the old Army hospital towered over this are- now replaced by CU Medical, Children's hospital and the new VA hospital (at least in theory!). TFTC!

So happy to get our smiley on this cache !! Smile This wasn't even on our list for today but when we found ourselves in the area decided to give it another try. More driving around in circles and then there it was - the elusive gym building !! Cache is in great shape and well hidden. Really enjoyed this historical tour. Gets a favorite point.

Surprised this has not been found since 6/19/14 !!

Spent a lot of time driving around the area - very interesting place. Think we got 3 of the answers but could not find the old gym? Several cachers mentioned using the campus map but we were unsuccessful looking for that also. We'll be back !!

This took me forever to find. So many times around those buildings and then another search.
Thanks for making me get to know this campus. I recommend Jimmy Johns for a sandwich while you solve.
