This puzzle cache is a tribute to some interesting movie characters from long ago. You get to figure out who by determining what the matches are below.
The cache is not at the posted coordinates but is not far away. Each of the items labelled A-D can be matched with multiple items from the numbered list. Some of the numbered items are used more than once. The number of items to match is indicated by the blanks that are shown by each item. Finally, you should add the numbers together to get the value for each of the lettered items.

A. His Musical Career __ + __ + __ = ___

B. The Music Box __ + __ + __ + __ + __ = ___

C. An Ache in Every Stake __ + __ + __ + __ + __ = ___

D. Hats Off __ + __ + __ + __ + __ = ___

2. 1941
3. 1932
4. 1927
5. Piano with Sound
6. A block of ice
7. Washing Machine
8. Silent Piano

10. Fair Oak View Terrace
11. Arthur and Norvell
12. Spencer
13. Harry, Louis, and Jerome

15. 131 steps

To get the decimal portion of the latitude, use this formula:
X=(A+B+D-2)*6

To get the decimal portion of the longitude, use this formula:
Y=(C*13)+34

39 33.X
104 59.Y

This cache was originally a good old altoids tin but is now one of those nifty capsule containers (as of July 19, 2010). It is not far from a convenient parking area. Bring your own fountain pen. There is a tree nearby in which there is a large nest. Please don't disturb the nest while inspecting the tree. If you see what lives in the nest, please log your sighting.

 Hints

Puzzle: Some googling probably required.

Cache: It is not under the concrete thing around the man hole cover (it was there originally but no longer). The cover would be a good place to stand, though.

Out on the SW side of town getting some degrees and other caches for challenges and decided to stop for this one. Like many puzzle caches, I learned about this one because someone in my Friend's league had done it so I took a shot. Fairly easy to solve- those are some great old movies. Hint is spot on for finding the cache. TFTC!

Solved this puzzle yesterday with some major help from a previous finder. This puzzle and another one of yours have been on my map for awhile now and needed to be turned into smileys. Grabbed this one on the way to work this morning.

Some may say we are crazy, but this game/hobby is one of the greatest gifts. Who doesn’t love a great scavenger hunt. Hiking, biking or driving hundreds of miles to sign our name on a piece of paper. This brings us a lifetime of joy, and new friends from all around the world.

Thanks for placing this cache and keeping our recreation going. SL/with PoshCacher/MagicCacher.Tftc

Checked on cache today. The original was indeed gone so I left the replacement in place. Good to go.

Thanks for the fun puzzle cache! Caching in the area today. I stood on the manhole cover but couldn't find the cache. Left a replacement camoed test strip container zip tied to tree. SL.

Found in the snow with OF-Erad while chasing puzzles in and around the Denver Metro. They day started out ridiculously cold and warmed up to just cold. By the end of the day we both had cold wet feet and a whole lot of other cold parts...TFTC SL

Fun find. Took me a few minutes to find it once I was at GZ. TFTC !!

I solved this puzzle quite a while ago. Maybe a year or more? I actually was going to get the final once but it was at night and there was a police car parked right next to GZ. Yeah, I'm not going there... That was months ago though.

I was in the area this morning getting the last two Sandhillers' Squirt caches and decided to finally cross this one off my list. I did what the hint suggested and found it quickly.

Did a little CITO too. There were three UNOPENED Keystone Light cans at GZ. People are weird. Sad waste of good beer. ;)

Good puzzle! It was old home week for me, since I have seen most of these. Hard to spot, but the clue gave it away. TFTH

Needed a puzzle today and this one has been sitting nearby tempting me for some time now. Spent about 30 minutes working it out and then headed out to make the grab. Found quickly enough with help of the hint. Nice hide as always and great puzzle. Signed Log. Thanks!
