Did this one together with my horse Tally as an equi-cache! It was a lot of fun crossing and riding in the middle of the small river as well as going up and down some steep embankments, boy am I proud of my horse!! This one gets a fav-point for all the fun, TFTC!!!

took a walk to dip some bugs, but forgot to bring more log paper. Difficult to cross the stream, last time I was here you could walk over the ice. Someone please replace the log.

Class ended early, so I took the scenic route home, picking up some puzzles, interesting caches, and larger containers along the way. This one took me AGES to find. Tricky little guy!! Thanks for hiding this one!

COL Walter E KTrackers, USA, has gone native and rogue up Monument Creek in the shadow of the USAFA at place known locally as Observation deck. I was called into remedy the situation. Knew this would be possibly a tricky op to ensure the objective was remedied so all cachers alike could be safe as they go up Monument Creek.
After catching a northbound BNSF, with a train engineer who just wanted to talk about napalm and surfing while listening to Wagner's Ride of the Valkyries, to the USN brown water navy (riverine) departure point at Checkpoint Woodmen, I was able to hook up with famous river runners who shall remain nameless for OPSEC purposes. The creek was running high and fast due to recent monsoon season weather but it was refreshing nonetheless given the hot and dry spell just prior to it. Consulting latest weather and sat imagery of the local area, I knew it could be deadly if I was not careful. Fortunately, there was a break in the weather with a low cloud deck to keep the temps cool with some sprinkles of rain here and there.
Hopping aboard the PBR, (no, no blue ribbons here, but they were a motley crew) we took off for the long trip up the creek that was brown itself with the runoff from the nearby Front Range. Watching the shoreline for enemy contacts, we were able to make it until we needed to slow to a crawl as we reached several hundred feet away from the drop point, where I would then be on my own. Listening to the Rolling Stones on the way up, I kept thinking I was looking for a Red Door Wanted Painted Black, but that was not to be.
Looking at the shoreline, there was no way I was approaching the deck until I was close enough where a decent break in the jungle would allow me to approach in silence from the south. Slipping over the side of the PBR, after getting all camoed in paint, I was able to keep my equipment dry as I became wet with the high and fast running creek. Thankfully it was warm and felt good today. Making the other side, I had to do a Stand by Me leech check before continuing on, finding no concerns thankfully.
Approaching from the south in full camoed stealth mode I was able to lay eyes on COL KTrackers sitting back away from view of most people by his fire listening to Jim Morrison The End and reading a dog eared copy of War and Peace by Tolstoy. He appeared to not see or hear me as I drew close, but then he looked up from his book and listened before turning Jim down.
He never knew where the C Rats and PBR (yes, with blue ribbons) can came from, but he was happy. Mission accomplished! I was able to egress quietly the same way in and meet up with the PBR crew (no, not blue ribbons, but brought blue ribbons) and make our way back down Monument Creek still looking for a Red Door Wanted Painted Black. Cachers are safe once again to head for the Observation deck...

Thanks for the cache! I was supposed to meet up with a friend this afternoon but those plans were derailed. So I decided to go for a hike and enjoy the sunshine a bit. Even though it was chilly this made for a great walk on the way home from work. I parked at the trail head and set my sights on this cache. Found the cache quickly as it stood out with the winter foliage. Signed and stamped the log. Replaced as found. All is well here! Thanks for placing this cache for us all to enjoy!!
