I took care of placing a new log in the geocache. All the prior cache contents frozen solid, including the pencil. Unfortunately, I didn't have a pencil along. Next friendly Geocacher to find this, take note...you will need your own writing instrument.

Grabbed the smiley on the snowshoe back to Nordic Center after an overnight at Tennessee Mountain Cabin. Nice to combine snowshoeing & caching!
Needs maintenance though. Not able to sign log... Totally soggy. I'll be up here in a few weeks again and if able, will try to replace log.

First find of 2015 for me. Beautiful hike and a great workout. We went the wrong way at first but eventually corrected ourselves. Tftc!

Typed the wrong log for this one! This was our second stop of the day. I'd never snowshoed before so it was quite a workout.

Nice area, fine walk, good hide. I had the whole place to myself when I was there - did not see another person the whole time. TN-LN-SL. Thanks !

Today was a perfect Colorado day for snowshoeing and we set out on the Lone Star Loop trail at 9:30am. We went in a clockwise direction, on the advice of the Nordic Center staff. What a beautiful trail! By the time we crossed the Rising Sun XC trail, we were breaking trail because of a recent snow. After about 2/3 of the way around the loop, we met another couple coming from the other direction, which was mutually beneficial, as we broke the trail for each other.
We found the cache easily and noted that it had been 1 year and 10 months since the last visit. Perhaps $15/person is a bit steep for the trail pass, but you get what you pay for and this was a beautiful trail (as I said earlier)! On the whole loop, we only saw 8 people, and the mountains, snow on the trees, bright blue sky - all added up to one glorious adventure for us today. Shoeing the trail, finding two caches, stopping for lunch - the whole thing took 5 hours and we had a great time. Thanks Mondo!

This one was actually the second find for the day. I ended up breaking trail for the entire loop. There was about 4 inches of wet snow covering the last tracks. It made for a hard trip around the loop. It was my first time on snowshoes. I was on some 1940's snowshoes. I carried a spare just incase... Great trail. Cache is in great condition. T4TC! SL
