Today I came up to Staunton State Park in hopes of grabbing an FTF. After an hour journey in traffic from Southeast Aurora, we arrived just before dusk. Sometimes I'm nervous about caching in the mountains. The tall peaks interfere with my GPS signal and I fear that it also interfered during placement. So inevitably, I am mentally preparing for being lost in the woods and attacked by bears, mountain lions, and elk. Glad it hasn't happened (yet.)
After grabbing caches in the park, I headed out alone.
I circled the GZ a few times, noting what is left of the deer. It doesn't interfere with the cache at all. The cache container is unique! TFTC!

Fun catch while out on the motorbike. Thanks!

The cache is, unfortunately, very near a dead deer. :( The previous logger didn't mention it, so I suppose the deer hasn't been there too long. It made me sad, so I quit looking - Dad Wiggy went past the deer a short way and found the cache. At least the deer wasn't on it, as we'd originally feared.

The log is very wet - managed to sign anyway - but needs to be replaced. There is a lot of trash nearby so we did a little bit of CITO. Light was fading and we had no more bags, but we filled a small one. Making a note to add some more to the cachebag.

#5 of 7 caching around Bailey, CO on this gorgeous fall day. TFTC.

I am out from Aurora, Colorado. I am loving the geocaching out here in the Mountains of Colorado. I just road the train in Chama, NM. I am heading back home. Highway 160 was closed due to the forest fire. at least 285 is reopened. I have to take this back way home. On the Bright side I get to hit some more geocaches. Thank you for the hide. TNLN.

Working on some more of the CSP series with Wall77, Ghostiegal and KSgator. We started it Monday, but got run out of the area by the fires. Roads were closed so we could not get to the caches. Most of the roads were open today, but we still could not get to some of them. Signed log WOGG. This one was along the way, so we grabbed it. TFTC
