Cache is dedicated to the song Home on the Range which was originally "My Western Home" written by Dr. Brewster M. Higley in 1872. Bing Crosby was the first to record the song in 1933. It is a Western folk song sometimes called 'the unofficial anthem' of the American West.

I'd hidden this cache a few days ago but had gotten sidetracked on getting it published but saw that this area of the park is now becoming popular so wanted to get it out there. Many caches in this park to spend the day hunting, if you'd like.

Please only remove the lid to retrieve the log. Dropped an inactivated geotag for FTF.

Holy smokes! A nice, after work hike during stay-at-home orders. Listening to the whispering pines to raise my spirits! 30+ minute search for this one before making the sneaky (normal Kitt5) find! Cheers!

Wow, FTF at 15:10 with an assist from the CO Kitt5, himself!! Short story long, I've spent a lot of time at the cache site with the same results each time, DNF! I was on my way down the hill and had a 45 minute window to come over and search. The conditions were absolutely ideal, it was a bright sunny day, and all of the snow around GZ was gone. I began where I always did with the big rock in front of the tree, that was the only place I could get a reading that put me near GZ, like most mountain caches my GPSr wouldn't stay put. I spiraled out up to 25 feet of that area again, and was already 25 minutes into the new search with no luck! Out of the blue, my cell phone rings and I have to take a phone call from a client, which suspends my search and I'm running out of time! This is where it gets cool.... I notice a fellow and a younger guy walking their dogs along the trail, as I'm on the phone I notice they stop and take a few steps towards me. We finally say hello, and he casually asks me "did you find ground zero"? I immediately told my client I would need to call her back, and sure enough after a brief introduction I was talking with Kitt5 himself, what are the odds!! He knew that I had been looking on multiple occasions and was kind enough to give me some ideas, and sure enough I re-checked a spot I thought I had already cleaned twice, and I'll be damned, there it was! Unfortunately, I've misplaced my stamp, so I signed my name in pole position, and grabbed the Geotag. I probably would've DNF'd again without the aid and assist, it's a devious hide (D/3?)! I was so elated to be FTF, but that feeling pales in comparison to meeting Kitt5 himself! We chatted briefly ( I wish we had more time) before I had to run back to car, and boogie down the hill. Thank you very much Kitt5, this cache earns a well deserved first favorite, till we meet again, TFTC

I am standing here at the cache. No snow in immediate area. I just placed an unactivated FTF geotag in the cache. Come and get it.

A lot of snow and pine needles covering this area making it difficult to hunt in this area but I also may have been looking in all of the wrong places

Hmmm. Looked high and low with no luck, lots of possibilities will be back.
