The gates to the South enters into the Rocky Mt. Arsenal. I saw several Golden Eagle on the day this cache was placed. If you walk down Buckley Road, you may spot them yourself. Otherwise, take a tour at the Arsenal.
Found throughout the Northern Hemisphere, the Golden Eagle is common in western North America, but rare in the East. It is one of the largest birds of prey in North America; only the Bald Eagle and California Condor get larger. Adult Description Very large raptor. Large hooked bill. Dark brown all over, with golden sheen on head. Very long and broad wings. Long broad tail.

Friday night cache flight! After work I headed north to complete a Whereigo and grab as many caches as possible. I didn't grab as many as I hoped, but ended up with 19 for the day. I replaced a few caches that were missing or damaged. During my adventure I walked through prairie dog fields, saw a hawk, horse and cow, scared a mouse that then scared me, and pet a French bulldog/Boston Terrier mix. Unfortunate fuel provided by McDonalds. Music by Blue October. Pretty successful night.
While I didn't see an eagle here, I did see an owl on the way. I was also amazed that this little cache survived a fire! TFTC!

I’ve taken a little break from geocaching the first couple weeks of June, so now I’m jonesing for a fix. The office was freezing this morning, I think some time away from the computer and some warmer temps are in order. Of course, I’m wearing cute little flats for the office and not something even close to suitable for caching. Oh well – off I go! (Although I did curse myself over this more than once.) Did a quick 5 cache run, found everything in good shape, didn’t see any snakes, and my feet weren’t bitten by ants. Just the pick me up I needed and it was back to work for a few more hours. I've worked on both the north and south sides of the arsenal, I enjoy walking/biking along Buckley, too. Thanks to the COs for the smileys! Find #3625.
