This is a mini version of my darkzone cache. Once again you will pretty much be able to park right on top of this one. There may or may not be some water so don't wear your nice shoes! A flashlight and possibly knee and back braces may also be needed! Give a holler before entering to scare off any wildlife or morlocks that may be holed up here! Please make sure that the cache is secure when you are done.

As typical of almost every hide I search, we took the hardest way possible. Explored several offshoots so small that I inched along on my belly. It was quite nostalgic as I used to go in tunnels like this where I grew up and ride down them on padded skateboards with lights attached to the front. Not necessary for this adventure but fun nonetheless. We made the find, dropped the log which rode the water current away for a distance. We went outside, dried it off and signed. TFTC! And thanks for the adventure!

Thanks, Nickygeo! Not near a tough as one in San Antonio where I almost lost my boots in the mud, but still worthy of a favorite point. I went to some Thornton neighborhoods to geocache this morning. I run a pocket query every night for the 1,000 closest caches I have not found yet. Right now that takes me out about 14 miles from home. I have an idea where I will start in the morning, but I am not sure will I end up. I usually go to the next closest cache. If the recent logs are not encouraging, I may skip it until another time. I usually give them a look and report an immediate DNF from my phone if I do not find it. If there are four or more DNFs, I will send a Needs Maintenance log. I really enjoyed geocaching in this part of town this morning.

It wasn't too wet today and I was able to get out of the wind. I was afraid the cache was gone but I didn't go far enough. The cache is there and well.

Very little water today so we took the hike into the dark zone. TFTC

Previous visit on 1/28/16 was a DNL (did not look) due to 'local conditions'. Came back today to have a look, and all was prime for the finding. Tricked us for a couple of minutes with that '2nd stage'. Fortunately, we persisted a bit and made the find.
