This cache:
Oh jeez...this cache...ok so I stopped at this one because the D/T is pretty rare in Michigan. I parked someplace I'm pretty sure I shouldn't have and hoofed it over toward GZ. The whole way there, the air reeked unbearably of urine... I was within 60' when -- Oh jeez, an island? And a drainage pipe coming from the adjacent wastewater treatment facility emptying into the river 40' upstream from where I have to cross? Lovely. The water was none too shallow. I had a swimsuit in the car, but I really didn't want to walk back given the whole urine situation. So I wound up doffing my boots, socks, and jeans and leaving everything on the rocks. I tried to get across quickly, but holy cow, in bare feet, that crossing was misery.
I eventually got to the island, somewhat the worse for wear, drenched in ice-cold water, a significant portion of which was almost undoubtedly human urine. I then discovered that the island was basically coated in goose feces. Oh and there were literal clouds of mosquitoes buzzing around the island. Mother--
I got to the cache as quickly as I could while trying to minimize foot pain/foot fecetiousness/all-but-naked-lower-body blood loss. Thankfully, the cache was easy to spot and I signed in. As I was wincing my way back over the poop-rocks, swatting myself constantly, I suddenly noticed a pair of decrepit, mismatched, women's flip-flops. It was like the heavens had opened and angels had come down to give me respite from my misery. I squeezed on the flippy-floppies as far as I could. Oh, glory be! Glory be! I could walk (kind of)!
As I recall, the journey back to my clothes involved floating on a cloud through a warm stream while tiny, 6-legged angels smothered me with their joyous kisses. By the way, I think I had lost a lot of blood by this point, so I may have been a little delirious. Soon, back in my car, I rehydrated, discarded the heavenly gifts, and continued my journey, trying not to think about how itchy my butt was.
Tftc?
Why I was here:
Due to a missed flight back in April, I had a voucher for a free roundtrip flight. This weekend, my wife was kind enough to watch the kids while I flew out to Denver from Michigan. As always, my plans were wildly ambitious, and I only found maybe a third of what I was hoping to find. But it's all good. Colorado has some great caches (and virtually no spiders, which was a pleasant surprise!). Thanks to all the COs for your time and effort!

Had the afternoon off so I decided to head into FC for this cache as it's a D/T that I need for my 5X Fizzy (there aren't many of these D/Ts close to Loveland). I chose a south approach to the cache and only had to take about 4 or 5 steps through the water and it wasn't more than a foot deep. Like others I was leery about the homeless shelter that is very near the cache but there was no one at home. So with just a little searching I saw the container. Because I am 6'1" I was able to reach the cache without having to do any climbing. Signed the log and then headed back across to my dry shoes and then on to my waiting vehicle. Thanks discostu72 for this nice Poudre cache!!!

More adventure than I expected. Parked at the only parking I could find, a quarter mile NE of the cache. Hiked S to the bridge. Crossed it and headed back N. Then I had to ford the W branch of the river during Spring runoff, in my shoes. GPS led me to someone's rustic Summer home. Climbed to my prize and promptly dropped the lid, Uhgg! Signed the log, replaced the lid, and squish, squish, squished all the way back to the geomobile. It was awesome! TFTC
