Needs maintenance

Kleaver Karl (our dog) played a good game of "give me that" with the pencil from the log book. Quite funny watching us try to catch him.

The cache is in a clear container with a green and yellow lid. It's not really water tight so you may want to bring zip-locks. There are a few small ones there.

Sometimes the longer route is the easier one. A trail map would help. I've heard there is a great view if you continue on the trail after finding the cache.

 Hints

Stay on St. Vrain Trail. Trailhead is at 40° 07' 24"N, 105° 26' 36"W. Attack the cache from above (cache is at about 8400 ft.). You don't have to climb any steep areas.
The cache is hidden in the middle of a large (about 15 ft. tall) green shrub. For a photo for the cache tree go to http://www.uswebfoundry.com/oef/photos.html

Hey Hey Hey, another one for my oldies collection. Thanks for taking us here and maintaining this one for all of us geocachers and the nice hike. It just started raining while signing the log but we still went for the others in the area.

I had a great time hiking the Ceran St. Vrain trail today. The weather was warm but it was quite windy. After first scrambling up and finding Miller Rock and then heading down the hill to find You're Half Way There!! I headed further down the hill to this cache. Coords were a little off but it didn't take too much to find this great oldie! Thanks robanna for placing this cache oh so long ago for us to enjoy all these years!!!

Got it. Chihuahua Jill and I made plans to come to this area to get a couple Colorado Oldies Kleaver Karl and Log Cabin cache plus a few others along the way. We bit off almost more than we could handle, but finally reached our goals. Super windy at first, but nicer along the creek to Kleaver Karl. Came across a couple of jeeps on the 4 wheel road but they didn't give us a ride.
This was our main goal to reach and find today. Really nice cache container with good placement. Never would have hiked here without geocaching. Thanks for keeping this oldie alive.

Out for a fun day of caching with TheBrecks today. We decided to tackle two oldies near each other, Log Cabin and Kleaver Karl’s Kache. We weren’t sure what we had gotten ourselves into, but persevered and were able to get them both, and some caches along the way. We were exhausted by the time we finished, but it was such a fun day and quite an accomplishment! We now have 6 of the 10 oldest caches in Colorado.

This was one of the main attractions for the day and what a hike to get here. The last part of the trail is steep but we slowly made our way up. The cache is in great shape and we sat and had some snacks nearby before making the trek back. This was such a beautiful place - a place I never would have seen without geocaching. The first part of the trail was like walking through an enchanted forest; it reminded me of the hike to GCD (only the trees were skinnier). TFTC.

Had this on on my radar for quite some time. All in good shape. Dropped a TB to start it's journey.
