Summary
A 3-stage multi-cache, with some very easy puzzles at the first two waypoints. All of the information necessary to interpret these signs is available on this page or in the field. The final will require about a one mile hike round-trip with a steep climb at the end.
Waypoint 1
Waypoint 1 is at the posted coordinates. To find waypoint 2, you'll need to do two things:
  • Go to waypoint 1 and retrieve the North coordinates
  • Drive around and find various warning signs to derive the West coordinates
The West coordinates must be determined by going to the following locations and looking at the posted signs (you won't even have to get out of your car).

Warning sign 1
Location: N 38° 54.703 W 104° 49.605
  • (9) Trespassers will be prosecuted
  • (4) No parking: Fire lane
  • (8) Notice: This property is under 24 hour surveillance
  • (3) No parking during the hours of 8am to 6pm
  • (1) Danger: Underground gas pipeline
Warning sign 2
Location: N 38° 54.674 W 104° 49.686
  • (2) Danger: Natural gas pipeline
  • (5) No Outlet
  • (6) Trespassers will be violated
  • (9) No digging: Fiber-optic cable junction
  • (1) No parking: Fire lane
Warning sign 3
Location: N 38° 54.804 W 104° 49.604
  • (3) L-3 Communications reserved visitor parking
  • (7) Reserved for pregnant women
  • (8) Reserved for guests of Mountain View Medical Group
  • (1) Reserved for employee of the year
  • (9) Handicapped parking only

Insert the number in parentheses for each answer into the following to determine the West coordinates for Waypoint 2:
W 104 49.(sign 1)(sign 2)(sign 3)

Waypoint 2
At this location you'll find the signs needed to reach the final waypoint. Each sign will be marked with a letter that corresponds to a sign and number below. Insert the number for each sign into the following to determine the final waypoint coordinates:
  • N 38 56.ABC - W 104 53.DEF

Final Waypoint:
You'll have a nice walk of about .4 miles slightly uphill before reaching the point with a steep climb for the last .1 mile. Enjoy!

Congrats to Wolfpack01 and Harpster68 for the FTF! I have two unactivated TBs for you.

 Hints

(Waypoint 2) Good parking to the north along the street above the culvert.
(Final) Starts out easy, but the last 400 feet are pretty rough. I wouldn't bring my four-year old son, but older kids should be okay. No climbing gear or anything fancy needed though.

Had a good time caching with WingsAndTales today - it was sunny but a bit chilly, so the uphill walk warmed us up nicely. Thanks for the interesting multi.

Out with COpackrat today enjoying a nice day before it turns cold again. We worked our way through the clues but had to take a guess at Warning Sign 3. I think the signs have changed. It worked out and we found the others right where they should be. The last bit to the final was a challenge but at least the snow was gone. TFTC

Where to begin with this one!? Well lets give lots of kudos for a well laid out and fun multi! Awesome thanks! Second... I have had the final coords for some time now! Sorta.... Sometime last year I went to what I had for the final... searched forever... no love... Reached out and found out I had mistyped the clue from the stage before the final. I had N and W reversed! Ugh!!!! I hate that!

Fast forward to today....

With some encouragement from my amazing and lovely wife I decided for a hike after work today. I've been couped up for far too long.... With a few messages back and forth of where I'll be and ETA for arrival home I set out. As described and others noted that last 200' are pretty rough. But I managed easily enough! Made the find and climb with plenty of time left! I signed the log and replaced as found.

With all the spare time I continued up the mountain through some massive scrub oak to get two more caches. Time was suddenly not on my side and the snow and rain came barreling in! Me without a coat.... without water... getting pelted with snow and rain, who knows what the temp was now had to climb all the way down off the mountain. Did I mention somehow thunder and lightning kicked in!? Yikes! Thank goodness for scree! I love "skiing" down the stuff and made an incredible time back to the trail. Soaked... Frozen... Bloodied I sat in the car on cloud 9! God I love Colorado and beating a mountain and the elements! There's no rush like it! I had to wait about 15 minutes for the windows and my glasses to defog. Took the time to message the wife and let her know I was alive and well. Even sang "Safe and Sound" to her! Ha ha ha!! With that I drove home.

What an afternoon! Thank you for the cache and helping make it happen!

This was a fun but challenging multi. We had a little trouble finding the north coords at stage 1. Stage 2 was straightforward, but the climb up to stage 3 and back down was pretty slippery. We’re impressed that the previous finders made that climb at night! Anyway, it was satisfying to sign our names to that log! Thanks to zulu113 for another fun cache.

Great cache, mathwiz365 started this one at 5pm and decided to finish it. We did the 2nd and the 3rd
waypoints in the dark. Great fun

Awesome cache! Found with Shaninjawarrior in the evening. It was getting dark near stage 2, but we decided to finish the cache anyways. Passed by a great night cache on the way to the final. It was a great view near the final at night.
