Have you ridden on an Amtrak Train?  The only one I have been on is the Texas Eagle.  I rode it round trip twice between Dallas and Chicago. I have never been on the California Zephyr which runs through Denver nor have I been on the Amtrak Winter Park Express.

Since I have been a railfan long before I ever heard of gecaching it is only natural for me to combine the interests whenever possible. Some of my other puzzle caches in the vicinity of this one also have a railroad theme.

About parking. Sometimes you can park right by the cache but you can always park by the parking waypoint.

You have to know or find something about these Amtrak trains to figure out where the actual cache is.

North:

Southwest Chief westbound at La Junta, Colorado
Sunset Limited eastbound at Yuma, Arizona
California Zephyr eastbound at Granby, Colorado
Coast Starlight northbound at Klamath Falls, Oregon

West:

Crescent northbound at Greenville, South Carolina (reverse the digits)
Texas Eagle southbound at Longview, Texas (last digit)
California Zephyr eastbound at Galesburg, Illinois
Cardinal westbound at Maysville, Kentucky (last digit)

Another fun railroad puzzle! Found this one pre-snowstorm. Signed log. Thanks for the puzzle and the cache!

I've taken trains all over Europe -- through the Chunnel from London to Paris, through the Swiss Alps, ... -- but haven't been on Amtrak. Train travel is extremely efficient and cost-effective in Europe... Amtrak not so much. I have been fanatical about railroads at times in the past so always enjoy your themed puzzles. Traded trackables, TFTC!

I HAVE ridden on an Amtrak train, but it's been many, many years. If memory serves correctly, I did as a part of a 10-year old birthday celebration I had in San Jose, CA. This was an interesting puzzle. I love that you've found so many unique ways to incorporate your other hobby into Geocaching.

It took a little bit of poking around to find the appropriate way to solve the puzzle. I may have made it harder than necessary, but I didn't want to take any chances. And my patience was rewarded with a good checker on my first attempt!

I am very slowly working towards getting a puzzle find for every day of the year. It will still take a few years, but I'm taking advantage of all of these new puzzles in my neck of the woods!

I didn't try and park right next to the cache, I took the nice short walk. Beautiful day out. Easy find as advertised. And I love your containers!

Dropped a TB.

Thanks for the hide cajrrman

Solved the puzzle last night. Seemed like a good idea to go for a run on this gray dreary day. It wouldn't be so bad except for the light drizzle making invisible ice patches on the sidewalks. And my pen froze. Fixed that, SL and swapped tbs. TFTC!
