Scenic view  Significant hike  Difficult climbing  Not Available during winter  Dangerous Animals  Thorns

This cache is hidden at a high point in Reynolds Park where there are some great views. The trail you want is the North Fork Trail. This is another in a series of caches that are all along trails in open space areas west and southwest of Denver.

I provided a parking waypoint. From here you want to head up the only trail but only about 150 feet. Then turn right and head to the campground and then find the North Fork Trail. This will be a hike of about 3 1/4 miles round trip with the last bit showing you why the terrain is level 4. From the Leave Trail waypoint to the cache is a climb off trail where you go up about 360 feet in about 720 feet. That's a 23 degree incline! There is a LOT of cacti on the hill so some cactus proof gloves might be useful (I didn't have any and had no trouble).

Based on comments from the person who was first to find, I added an approximate waypoint for an easier ascent.

This is the most challenging of all the Trail Mix caches in my opinion although there is one other with a T4 rating.

I suspect the FTFer left the trail around here for an easier ascent. I have not verified this.

10:38:00 AM My main goal today was Trail Mix #25 at Reynolds Park. . Thanks for the fun! Yowee! This was a doozie, I had sweat dripping in my eyes for the last 300 feet.. I did bring my work gloves, and used them while climbing up that last .11 miles. Down was a bit harder for me than up. I left the trail close to your waypoint, then wandered down using a more moderate approach. Lots of deer poop on my chosen path - but they cheat and use 4 wheel drive. Now I need to pick my next Trail Mix cache.

This was a real bugger of a climb! Once I reached the top I realized that it was another Trail Mix series hide. My favorite series! The journey down was really sketchy. Ha ha ha ha! TFTChallenge!

Spent some time in the Conifer area with "animjason" - I found three geocaches along the way - this was the second of them. TN-LN-SL. Thanks !

This earned its rating for sure. We went up near the ftf route, and down the posted route. Found a nice game trail to the cache after the steep portion was over.

Took some photos of the contrast between burn area, and non-burn area. Beautiful views. This one gets a fave.

Thanks cajrrman! Logged Trail Mix #25 - Reynolds Park from a ninth galaxy using c:geo!

Woohoo! My goal today was to get this cache and clear out the north side trails. Goal accomplished! Yep, I agree the last several hundred feet to this one are the hardest in the series and earns the 4 Terrain rating. I left the trail near Along the North Fork as that hillside was snow free and I couldn't see around the corner, so up, up, up I went. Made the find and then had the BRILLIANT idea to go down a different route. Not the best choice, but I survived. Cheers!

Parked in main/west lot. Up Hummingbird (80% clear) to North Fork (50% clear). Out and back to TM #25 cache (all clear to get to cache) on North Fork, then down Chickadee (95% snow) to Hummingbird and across the road to Songbird (95% snow) and back to parking. About 5.5 mi loop.

Left my 8y.o. with my husband on the trail at the waypoint. They explored the outside of the mines while they waited. Took my 14yo up the hill. Got confused by my GPS & went too far west. Backtracked a bunch & went up OVER the hill. Took 40 minutes to get from the trail to the cache. Only the lure of a FTF made me keep going. Finally found it only to find we were 2nd to find! Great view though. Took 25 minutes to get down, and I fell once. It is very steep, with lots of loose dirt & rock. I think this may have been the hardest terrain I've tried so far. Recommend doing in fall or winter. Bring a friend & boots with great tread.

I had plenty of time to plan a slightly different route by continuing past the waypoint and in doing so I spotted a game trail going up a grassy slope.

This was alittle bit longer of a hike and the only rocks I had to deal with were covering the container.

I have to admit the last few months that I was going through Trail Mix withdrawal and fill much better now with a find.

Thanks for a fun series to hunt for and of course another FTF!
