Headed out to the plains today. Perfect caching weather. Saw cows, horses, pheasants, pronghorns, and best of all, only a few muggles. A bit challenging but took it slow and easy and got it. Hint was helpful.

I enjoy taking these empty country roads, getting away from lots of people, and enjoying the beautiful scenery. Both boys even fell asleep at the same time for a bit. I totally fell on my butt looking for this one, haha. The hint helped! Thanks for the cache!

The "fourth was with us" on this beautiful Colorado spring day. We visited and found 30 caches, this was one of them. Thanks to all the owners for placing and maintaining these for us to enjoy. It was lovely here today... rolling green grasslands, lots of barns and windmills, and many horses, goats, sheep, even llamas were seen. TFTC SL

Snow day, so catching up on logs.
Found this and fun little series with animjason while we were in the area. I love impromptu caching adventures.
This was our main target to defeat the aliens.

BearAdair and I weren't doing anything today. We were driving around Parker doing errands when the caching itch hit.
We ended up in this area finding extinct animals, and defeating an alien invasion.
Thanks for the fun. Ended up with 13 finds before it started getting dark.
That was a fun one, and gets a fave.

FTF] 2-3-19 at 10:20 pm with [@WindAtMyBack . What an adventure! I finished up with all of my Super Bowl day duties and got WAMB to agree to an FTF hunt before bed. One minor problem... it's an hour away. Downloaded the cache info and headed out. I knew that reception out here is spotty, so I studied the cache info including the hint. I knew what to do and had an idea about the cache.
It is normally quiet out here and driving at night, we were pretty alone. I saw a mouse and a few rabbits scurry across the road. To dark to see anything else.
My mind wandered as I drove the desolate roads. I am using a lot of gas to drive all the way out here in the dark for an FTF. If I'm using gas, in a way, I think I'm recycling... dinosaurs. Am I right? Or is it upcycling? Dunno.
We pulled up at the GZ. This is where the fun starts. Although I read the hint, it had slipped my mind by the time we arrived. I admired the star filled sky. The stars aren't this visible in the city. Using my flashlight, I made my way over to the geo-beacon. Now I was certain I knew the container placement. Or at least where I would have put it. I scooted in closer and got spooked when the snow gave way and I slipped a little. This was the spark for the decision that made everything go wrong.
I decided to go low. I spotted the cache and snatched it up. That's when my footing slid out from beneath me. Before I could even react, I was sliding down to the slush covered water. Turns out it is about 3 feet deep here. It is deeper when I'm at an angle trying to claw my way out of it. I was up to my waist in icy cold water. I scrambled out cache and flashlight still in hand. A quick walk to the FJ to share the log with WAMB. Turns out she didn't see any of my follies.
But now I was doing this weird cry reflex thing. Remember when you were a kid and just finished crying. The breathing spasms? Like big double and triple breaths. I couldn't stop them. I stamped my name on the log along with WAMB and returned to the scene of the crime. No problem returning the cache now that I remembered your instructions.
As I walked back to the FJ I slipped on the hill again. My jeans were already beginning to freeze and didn't want to bend. So I did what any reasonable person would do... stripped in the middle of the blackened street and put my soaked clothes in the back.
I drove home paranoid about getting stopped by the police. Half naked and still doing the weird cry relex thing. But I made it without any additional problems.
This would have been much more embarassing if @2lablovers had taken me up on the offer of a late night FTF.
Thanks for another memorable geocaching experience. And of course, thanks for the cache!
