3/18/20 UPDATE: cache is missing. Only broken pieces left. Lots of trash in the area. We were so saddened when we checked it today. Will repair/replace soon. We liked this spot because it's by a little creek that you can play in.  In the winter time, you can see the water have crystals on it with the water running underneath.  You can hear birds, even woodpeckers and that's how you know you're in the right area.  That's the reason for the name "Singing Birds". - (from our young explorer who chose the spot)

Beautiful little geologic area between the cement trail and Mesa Middle School.  If it's a warm day, you can smell the tree where the geocache is hidden.  Putting your nose close to the bark will reveal a cinnamon and vanilla smell.  The sweet smell is our favorite thing about Ponderosa Pines!  Ponderosas are the tree we have the most of in our Castle Rock parks and trails system.

One word of caution, on your way to this location, there are some areas with old barbed wire laying around.  Please watch out.

Came across on the sidewalk then down the steep hill in the new snow to the creek. Crossed at a frozen spot then up to the top just to go back down again. It’s been a while since I’ve seen this kind of hide. Thanks for getting us out on the one nice day this week.

Great idea! It has a few minor glitches but it is really fun! Thanks for the hide and all the thought you put into this one!

Nice little hike on this chilly morning. Once I got there was pleasantly surprised that it was right in front of me, a little tangled by the wind, otherwise an excellent cache. TFTC!

{*FTF*} 5:25PM w/ AtomicCorgi.

Saw this new one come out and finally had a chance to get an FTF in the area after being gone for a while. We made it to GZ right before sundown and found the cache after searching for a little bit.

We were back up the hill in the dark but made it back pretty quick. Thanks for the fun!

TFTC SL!
