Find #4567 @ 6:39:00 AM on 4/24/2019:

Researching easy hikes in the area I came upon the recommendation for the Hogback Ridge Loop several times and since it was a short drive from where I was staying I decided to hike the loop in the morning before my day of meetings started.

I used this cache to locate a helpful trailhead that cut off some of the less interesting parts of the trail and started here before sunrise hoping to hit the event on the ridge.

Immediately I was greeted by a hooting owl that was sitting on the roof peak next to my car. I was able to watch him at close proximity for a few minutes while he carried on a conversation with another owl in the distance. Pretty sure it was a great horned owl based on the size, although I'm not an expert on the owls around here.

After that I enjoyed the relatively simple hike up the ridge, spotting over a dozen deer grazing in the grassy areas. Lots of other birds as well. My goal of hitting sunrise at the top was spot on and I enjoyed the pretty start to a new day before making quick tracks back the car and to find the cache. Too bad there were a few more caches on the trail, I'm guessing they aren't allowed.
