Now I remember why I put this cache off for so long. I had forgotten how steep the trail is, especially the first quarter mile. I couldn't get closer than 350 feet on the trail, so that's where I started bushwhacking. I took my time because of all the cactus and loose rocks, and soon found myself at a very peaceful little area. Unfortunately the hunt took a bit longer than it should have. I wasn't having any luck so I expanded the search--in the wrong direction. I finally worked my way back around and found the container nicely tucked away. The container is in perfect condition and loaded with swag. I added some Get Out of Hell Free cards and a travel bug that likes to spend time in lonely caches.

I thought I could see an easier way back to the trail, but it turned out to be much harder. I should have just retraced my steps. Thanks for a beautiful (but exhausting) hike. Favorite added.

Last cache on a 3 mile hike with Lemonheadmafia today. Nearly 60 down here but only 40 degrees in the Springs. Sl, thanks!

The walk up the atv trail is great and it's from there that you can see for miles and miles, which is awesome to the east!!
GZ is a cozy forested spot with much energy to gain if you 'take time to smell the roses/(forest in this case)'

This was our second cache for the day. We started hiking at 7:30 AM. After our first smiley, we could tell that it was going to be hotter by the minute, so we changed our plan and hiked all the way up first. First the tough part (hiking) and then the fun part (searching for the cache). Whew, it sure gets hot here in July! We are so glad that we took enough water with us. Watch out for cacti as you bushwhack. The hint didn't help much because there were so many trees. But we finally found it. Neat place with awesome views. Tftc.
