This cache is hidden in a location with a pretty good view of the Arkansas Valley as you come down the county road from Sugar City. Imagine this valley full of water as it used to be long long ago. Although a fraction of its original size, the Arkansas River is the lifeline of this area and supports all of the farms from Fowler to the Kansas border. Not far from here is Rocky Ford, famous for its sweet melons, much attributed to the fertile soils and cool summer nights. The river flows from the Rocky Mountains to the West through Canon City, Pueblo, and across the midwest into the Mississippi River. Without this river, the valley would look much like the prairie to the north of the cache location, barren, arid grassland. Take a moment to imagine yourself in the 1800's coming over the prairie hill and seeing this fertile lush valley after a long journey in a covered wagon across the hot dry plains. It's no wonder so many settled in this wonderful oasis in southeastern Colorado.

Cache is roughly the size of a pill bottle, with room for small swag like coins, etc. BYOP. PLEASE be stealthy while in the area to not attract attention as there can often be traffic traveling by. Please make sure the container is sealed completely before replacing it exactly as you found it so no passers-by can see it and steal it.
