We approached from DS Road (BLM land), so we were Out-In-Out-In-Out by the time we were done. Snowy day!

Wonderful wander up the wash...travel was easy, scenic and obviously frequented by elk and large cats. Love seeing the space away from the crowds! Highly recommend sticking to wash or rock for this outing as the cryptobiotic soil is flourishing in this whole area..every time we started to venture closer to the rock walls we turned back... reluctant to tread on such fragile soil crust. Cache is in good shape and coordinates are right on. Very interested to know what feature was referred to as Ottos Dugout....not obvious to us. TFTC! Took SD qtr and necklace, left AZ petrified wood and Black Canyon NP geocoin.

Difficult & circuitous bush whacking hike from Rim Rock Road to locate this rarely found cache: cactus, slick red rock, dense undergrowth, signs of large animals, etc. Magnificent isolated area. No chance of Muggles.
Cache is dry and secure. Signed log, left shiny necklace and picture of South Dakota presidents. Thanks for placing the cache. K7
